Gite du four à pain

😊: Lovely property which kept cool. Comfortable sofa. Good tv and internet.. 😢: We travel extensively in France this was our 8th location on this trip. 5.30pm is a very late check in time. I contacted the day before to confirm check in details it took 8 hours to get a reply which came at midnight. We’d have been very happy to have a self check in but were clearly told we would be met which always means having to time arrival precisely and is not a preference. However we sat in the car for 15 minutes before arriving on time at the door on a long hot day to be left waiting for ten minutes- we had to turn roaming on to find a message to say she had left the keys, so a poor check in experience. When fed back that these late changes (the message was time stamped 5.23) were not ideal -literally I said ‘was not great’ I got an extremely terse message stating my tone was inappropriate and how was she to know I would not have roaming on. Despite having given no indication I would need to be aware of possible changes of plan. I sent all my messages translated which was not a courtesy replicated. I then got a diatribe on how managing ‘guests’ disrupted family life! I was upset and had a sleepless night. She continued to message and eventually apologised but I did not therefore engage again with the host so note here that when we booked the listing showed photos of garden cushions which did not exist, the garden was unkempt and loose wooden paving a trip hazard. The listing at that time also stated the provision of toiletries but there wasn’t even hand soap available (empty bottle under sink).There was enough dishwasher fluid for one wash (we were booked 3 nights) and not even a single washing tab…none of these things would have stopped me booking but they just confirmed a lack of customer awareness compared to the many excellent alternative experiences we’ve had.I also share (photo) the only information in the gite which was all about the cleaning necessary before leaving..

😊: The host was so accommodating by providing baby equipment for our 12 week old. The house itself is lovely, in a great location for exploring the Loire valley.. 😢: Nothing, it was great!.

😊: Our stay in the apartment was above expectation. We liked the location of the apartment near old church in the centre of small and very quiet town. Hosts answered all our questions and arranged comfortable check-in (we just took the keys from the key-box near the entrance door) and check-out (we just left the keys in the same box). Apartment has all necessary facilities and equipment for comfortable stay..

😊: Lovely location in a quiet village. Very nice house with good facilities. Lovely host..
