Fabulous tranquil getaway . Lovely well equipped home , in a fantastic setting with amazing views . Joelle and Patrick fab hosts and we were sad to leave .

Placed in a hamlet above the regions' most popular river bathing location (the Vis cascade), the spacious appartment (for 4, but with additionally available space for more people) is located ideally for excursions into the valleys of the Vis, the Herault, and the Buèges. From the hamlet itself, one can do a nice hike to a freely accessible cave with hints of stalactite formation to do before finally visiting the wonder of the Grotte des Desmoiselles. The heart of the appartment is a spacious terrace from which one can gaaze over the Cevenne scenery during the day and observe the moon rise (or the stars) at night. There is wifi, a large TV screen, and in the garden there is a source-linked freshwater basin others would rightfully announce as a pool. Very easy communication with the host. A carefree experience in a wonderful setting.

I stayed at this 300+ year old property with various family members and friends for a month. The apartment, part of a small hamlet half way up a small mountain, was wonderful. The views from the patio and kitchen were sublime. Also, the adjoining lawns and gardens are huge. The hosts were very accommodating and responsive. There are several hikes available right from the property and a lovely waterfall and rock swimming beach at the base of the mountain. The apartment is 1 hour north of Montpellier and there are several other day trips in the region such as a visit to Saint Guilhem-le-Désert. A true taste of French country life.

We spent three weeks in this ancient, well equiped holiday home. It is ideal for hot days as cool inside and with a wonderful terrace to enjoy the stunning view and to watch the stars at night. On rainy or colder days the woodburner creates a romantic atmosphere. We did a lot of cooking in the well equiped kitchen. The weekly market in Ganges offers a wide variety of fresh and regional products. Try the sweet onions which are typical for the Cevennes. One very nice walk passes right along the house. Maps are also available as well as information about walks and places of interest to visit. September and October are the right time for travelling if you want to enjoy nature by watching the wildlife around the house and in the area. As the main holiday season is over the hamlet is a quiet place then. The bridge of Millau, the Mont Aigual and the vulture visitor center are quite close, and can even be combined in a daytrip. Also Montpellier is reachable within an hours drive. The communication and contact with the owners have been very easy. We got any support needed and a lot of interesting and helpful information.
