Gîte en pleine nature Fontainebleau

Dans un cadre vert, le bonheur est dans le bois. Le chalet chaleureux, cosy, petit mais très bien agencé. L'extérieur, immense terrain de jeu pour les enfants, formidable lieu de repos (un café, un livre pour un zen instant). Les alentours proposent suffisamment d'activités pour ne pas réussir à en faire le tour le temps du séjour. Les hôtes sont discrets, dispos, arrangeants et gentils. En clair, ce fut une belle parenthèse qui requinque en ces temps troublés. Évidemment, comme à chaque fois que c'est trop bon, c'est trop court.

le gîte est immergé dans la forêt, très bien équipé, les propriétaires très gentils. Idéal pour se ressourcer et passer du bon temps en extérieur. Nous reviendrons !

Wir hatten eine sehr schöne Zeit. Der Wald ist wunderschön und das Haus genau richtig für unsere Bedürfnisse. Tolles Bouldergebiet! Auf jeden Fall eine Reise wert.

Christine was a very accommodating host. She and Alain were responsive to any questions I had, even looking up travel information for me when we planned to take a train to Paris, and offering to drive me to the local autoparts store to pick up some power steering fluid (van developed some problems!). The gite itself is basic,but exactly as described in the advert/pictures. It was what we expected, but as we were planning on spending most of our time exploring the forest and bouldering, we didn’t mind. The only criticism I’d make is that, because we picked a particular hot week to be there (38deg on couple days), this made it particularly difficult to sleep at night without waking up in a pool of sweat, and we didn’t want to open the windows for the many insects we’d have had to contend with otherwise. Not a fault of the gite per se as it’s not usually this warm, but I did find myself at times wishing we’d booked somewhere with air con. From mid week on this wasn’t a problem as the temps dropped, and things were comfortable again. And the trade off was that we had loads of outdoor space, which we wouldn’t have had if we booked somewhere more central in Fontainebleau like we had considered. The gate at the end can be locked and the whole boundary is fenced so kids can explore without too much worry (ours were 5and3 so stayed with them whilst exploring, but in a couple years time would have been more comfortable letting them off leash, so to speak). I’d definitely stay there again, it’s perfectly situated for all the bouldering sites and scrambling routes, and is only a short drive or bike ride into milly for fresh croissants/baguettes etc. Christine kept in touch well prior to our arrival which put me at ease having never used a site like this before and paying all that money. Couldn’t have worked out better, and I’m sure we’ll be back in a couple of years. Thanks again! Aaron and Michelle.
