Gîte familial dans maison viticole - Charlotte 6 personnes

This is the second time I’ve booked with Vrbo, and while my first experience was amazing in a villa in Corsica, this one was a huge disappointment. I genuinely don’t understand how this place can have such great reviews. It’s hard to believe that two offerings at opposite ends of the quality scale can have the same number of stars.The bathrooms had a damp smell, and the furniture was basic. Overall, it didn’t feel very clean. There was a bucket with a mop right in the middle of the kitchen, and one of the bedrooms was used for storage. There were even notes about what chores you were expected to do, and they made it clear that this wasn’t a hotel! They were happy to charge hotel prices, though, which might explain why it didn’t look very clean overall.In the end, we only stayed there to sleep and shower but it just shows that paying 900 euros for a week does not guarantee a quality stay.

The space is very comfortable with all the basics covered - beds, baths, kitchen with dishes and cookware, laundry machine and drying rack. Clean and bright space and we appreciated the outdoor areas for relaxing. The train is nearby and we visited Strasbourg and Colmar easily from here. Love the winery and history tour provided by our host for an additional fee. And we were able to purchase a bottle of wine to enjoy later as well. Grocery store is walkable distance away. We arrived rather late and faced limited options for food and ordered a pizza and then we were able to shop the next morning. I suggest planning ahead for food if you will arrive in the evening especially if you are not having a car at your disposal. Staff at the winery were enthusiastic and helpful.
