If you want to experience a truly relaxing stay in beautiful part of rural France then this is the place to go. Surrounded by fantastic countryside the gîte is set on the edge woodland with big open spaces Michel and Bridget are a lovely couple, very welcoming and nothing was to much trouble. Only a kilometre from the local town of Saint Pierre du Cole where you can find all you need to support your stay. The Venice of the Dordogne is about 12 kilometres away, a beautiful place to wonder and take lunch or dinner. I would recommend this place to anyone who wanted to experience France at its best.

Well equipped house with extensive well kept grounds and a large well maintained swimming pool. There are several interesting places to visit in the area all an easy short drive away. Or simply walk to the nearby village of St Pierre de Cole (about 15 minutes through a shady wood) or a straightforward 4 minute drive. The owners of the gite who live nearby are charming and helpful without being intrusive. We enjoyed our week and would happily return.

The property was very comfortable, well equipped and spacious. The garden was huge (our dog was in heaven) the swimming pool was great as was the games room/gym. Michel and Brigitte, the owners, were very friendly and helpful, always sociable but never intrusive. They made every effort to communicate and with their English and our French, we did not have any language difficulties. A great place for an interesting, relaxing holiday - we would not hesitate to recommend.

When we came up the single track road, through the trees, and the land opened up before us, we were blown away by the beautiful setting. The house is well equipped and the pool area is great. There's so much to do so please explore - especially the caves and the beautiful town of Brantome. The hosts were lovely and really helpful and relaxed.

We had a wonderful 2 week stay at gite Les Gardes. A lovely, characterful property in a beautiful location. The grounds and wonderful swimming pool were perfect for all the different ages groups! The gite was very well equipped and remained cool when the temperatures were high (dog was grateful!)! The games room with table football, snooker and gym equipment was a super added bonus The village of St.Pierre de Cole is walkable and the beautiful town of Brantome only a 10min drive. On top of which the owners are delightful and always helpful. All in all a really great holiday for us all-would love to return! Caroline and Alen
