Gîte Saumur The romantic and calm dovecote

We loved the dovecote the attention to detail was spot on, we had everything we needed and more. Yannick and Cecile were lovely hosts. Lots to do in the area in such beautiful surroundings. We will return to such a perfect place.

We were very pleased. It was perfect for a couple. We arrived on a cold afternoon and the wood stove quickly warmed us up. The bathroom and kitchen had everything we needed and the bed was comfortable. A great deal of thought and work went into converting this structure, resulting in a gem. The hosts were very friendly and helpful. We hated to have to leave.

Amazing. Simply amazing and unique. You could not ask for a better holiday escape than this 3 story rework of a traditional dove cote in the Loire valley. Kitchen is stocked with everything you need as well great appliances. Abundant hot water and a well stocked wood supply for firing up the wood burning fireplace for winter warmth and relaxation. 5***** stars

What a fabulous restoration of 'the Pigeonnier', amazing, impeccable, and with a modern twist, delightful and magic. Everything is there, impeccable and clean, kitchen equipment perfect and plenty of it, bedding, towels, etc A private garden as well, and of course private and secure parking. extremely quiet too. We would definitely recommend it. The hosts are very welcoming and helpful, with great recommendations for outings, please go and enjoy. Camille and Brian

Wunderschöner Aufenthalt in einem aussergewöhnlichen Objekt .Super ruhig gelegen . Cecile und Jannik sind ganz wunderbare Menschen , die sich liebevoll um uns gekümmert haben . Eine Bereicherung , ihnen begegnet zu sein . Wir hoffen auf ein Wiedersehen . In der Gegend gibt es unendlich viel zu entdecken .

Nous avons passé un beau séjour dans le gîte du Pigeonnier chez Cécile et Yannick. L'accueil est très amical, simple et chaleureux. Nos hôtes nous ont apporté des informations sur la région, le pays et de bonnes adresses que nous avons appréciées. La région est pleine de ressources pour des visites, des balades et la gastronomie. Des balades directement à partir du gîte sont possibles. Le gîte est de haute qualité, moderne dans un bâtiment original et remarquable pour l'espace privatif et le calme. Un lieu à retenir, pour y revenir.

Calme et tranquilité au rendez vous. Le gîte est juste magnifique, spacieux et très bien équipé. L'espace jardin est agréable et aux pieds des vignes. Détente assurée et des propriétaires sympathiques, souriants et d'une organisation parfaite, il ne manquait rien pour ce sublime séjour que nous n'oublierons pas. Olivier et Didier

We have stayed in cottages all over Europe and this was one of the best. Although the dovecote is in the grounds of the hosts property, it feels very secluded, private and very quiet. Our hosts were delightful! A really charming and genuine couple who go out of their way to make your stay is memorable. They even bought charcoal for us for the BBQ. They speak English brilliantly which was a relief as we dont speak French. The dovecote has recently been converted to accomodation and looks stunning. Its a bonus having a washing machine as most places dont. You have your own private garden which borders a vineyard. Its perfectly French! You walk round the garden at night and just hear the birds. You are surrounded by countryside & vineyards but only 15 minutes away from Saumer which is quite big and has all your supermarkets & places to eat. There are lots of tourist places to visit on your doorstep and we appreciated the recomendations by our hosts that we couldnt find on the internet. Our stay was brilliant and it was a pleasure to have met our hosts. We even have plans to drive down again next year just to stay there again. Thank you for a wonderful break.
