Gîte1 étoile à Givry - Un séjour au calme sur la côte chalonnaise

Es hat alles gepasst: nette Vermieter, Unterkunft wie beschrieben, viel Ruhe, tolles Wetter, super Fahrradwege, Restaurants und viele Geschäfte fußläufig zu erreichen.

Es war ein schöner Monat im Frühling in Givry: die Glyzinie begann zu blühen als wir an kamen, es folgten Maiglöckchen, die verschiedenfarbigen Iris, die Kletterrosen und die Pfingstrosen. Das Wetter war kühl und es gab auch viel Regen. Die Gite hatte alles, was wir brauchten. Unsere Gastgeber Aline und Olivier Burat waren freundlich, hilfsbereit und verbrachten zwei Abende mit uns, wofür wir uns herzlich bedanken. Insgesamt waren wir sehr zufrieden und kommen nächstes Jahr im Mai gern wieder, so Gott will.

Die Unterkunft im Maison jaune hat großen Charme. Alles, was man braucht, ist vorhanden. Der Garten ist wunderschön. Es ist ruhig dort. Die Vermieter sind hilfsbereit und sehr nett. Und Givry ist ein guter Ausgangspunkt für Ausflüge ins südliche Burgund, für Touren mit dem Fahrrad und für Wanderungen in den Hügeln. Wir hatten sehr schöne Zeit dort. Danke!

We spent eight nights at La Maison Jaune and found it a delightful setting. Aline and her husband were warm and friendly and were helpful with local information. The house is in the village of Givry but it has a beautiful and extensive garden which was available to us. We could walk to restaurants and shops. If you enjoy cycling, the Voie Verte and the Canal make this a perfect place.

Hier passte einfach alles. Die Wohnung ist mitten im kleinen Ort Givry und alle wichtigen Geschäfte sind zu Fuß gut erreichbar. Aline ist eine wunderbare Gastgeberin und hat uns mit ihrem Mann freundlich begrüßt und in Empfang genommen. Die Wohnung war sauber und gut ausgestattet. Man hat Zugang zum schönen Garten und glaubt gar nicht, dass man mitten im Ort ist. Auch das Umland ist schön und lädt zu Ausflügen ein. Wir kommen gerne wieder und bedanken uns ganz herzlich.

Aline and Olivier were so welcoming and always willing to give help and advice - their English was very good! The gite was full of character, very comfortable and clean - mind your head upstairs on the exposed beams. We enjoyed sitting in the lovely gardens. We will certainly return if in the area again.

The yellow house is two blocks from the town center of Givry, a quiet, beautiful little town right out of the middle ages. We fell in love immediately. Aline and Olivier were delightful, helpful, and gave us free reign of their fabulous garden yard. One tiny room downstairs, was the kitchen. We did cook a couple meals, and it was adequate. The upstairs had an area that we used as a second bedroom (it also housed the water closet), and then a bedroom with a shower and two sinks. Large beams in all upstairs rooms were low and anyone over 5'2" or so needs to duck. All that said, we 4 adults did quite well, although, I think it is better suited for 2. The place had been remodeled recently, and was quite clean. The entire area was magical with the vineyards (it's in the Cote Chalonnaise), the old buildings, the wonderful market, and hiking and biking trails. Add in that our hosts made us feel so much at home, and it went over the top. One downside was that we only could get internet outside...could have been our provider. Olivier let us hook up to his personal account. Thanks for the much needed rest before heading off to the culture shock of Paris.

Aline is very quick and correct in mail communication. She was on holiday when we stayed in the yellow house, so we didn't meet. But everything was arranged through the friendly neighbor living down the street. The house is very nice, it's clear that is was redecorated recently. Great atmosphere inside and outside! The master bed is very good! For our son, we missed a separate second bedroom: the second bedroom is also the living room (with the kitchen downstairs). The large garden has a lot of privacy and a swing for the kids. Only downsize is that the beams of the house are somewhat low, so we had to bend if walking upstairs. The area is superb, particularly if you drive on the secondary roads.
