Gîtes de France - Au Pech Rasquet

Formidable Au Pech Rasquet we had time to unwind. It is peaceful and pretty. It is a home away from home. Grocerieshopping at the local markets with their local food and beverages are a delite. And the medival towns are a joy to visit, strolling through alleys. Even walking the scenic route in the wooded hills are breathtaking. But on hot summer days it's nicer to swim in the pool, read books,paint a little, and discover what quiet surroundings feel like. Watch the stars at night. Open another bottle of rosé. Play petanque. Spend some lazytime in the hammock. How wonderful of Pascale and Stephen to welcome us to their home. Thank you very much. Lots of love, Nils and Rolinda

Beautiful, relaxing place to stay in the hills We had a wonderful stay at Au Pech Rasquet - a remarkably peaceful and relaxing place up in the hills near Larnagol, with beautiful walks through stunning countryside all around. The house itself is very comfortable and well outfitted - the kitchen in particular is exceptionally well equipped for a holiday home and meant we could confidently cook much more complex things than are usually possible. It is also well designed to cope with the very hot conditions of the southern French summer, with thick walls and shuttered windows. Even when the temperature became really excessive over the first few days of our stay, the old stone building stayed tolerably cool, and the lovely swimming pool was also a big help in keeping the kids happy. Pascale and Stephen are wonderful hosts  - kind and friendly, but also relaxed and unassuming - and they did everything possible to make sure we had a super holiday. This included some great suggestions for places to visit that took us away from the crowded tourist spots, including directing us to the astonishing prehistoric rock art of the Pech Merle caves and a variety of local markets where the best fruit and veg can be had - the flat peaches may the best fruit I've ever eaten! The area is incredibly beautiful, a landscape of alternating oak-covered limestone plateaux and deep river valleys. There are several beautiful towns, including Cajarc which has plenty of food shops including a top-quality minimarket, a traiteur and two bakers, as well as a regular small street market (Particularly recommend 'La Pause' restaurant with its fantastic value two-course dinner for €12.) Overall we had a great time and would absolutely recommend Au Pech Rasquet to anyone wanting to go to the Causses du Quercy region - an area we hope to return to in future. (NB if you go, I advise reading and following the directions you'll be sent. Don't just blindly trust Google maps, which will send you along dirt tracks through receptionless wooded valleys.)

Véritable havre de paix ! Superbe gîte authentique et parfaitement équipé ! Tout y est: - le calme et l'isolement dans une nature préservée - le charme d'un habitat typique et très confortable, situé dans un terrain immense - une magnifique piscine - un équipement plus que complet et de qualité Et pour couronner le tout, des propriétaires particulièrement accueillants, discrets et d'une gentillesse exceptionnelle ! Amoureux d'art , d'histoire, de nature, de randonnées, d'activités nautiques… en recherche de détente et de déconnexion , n'hésitez pas: ce gîte ne peut pas vous décevoir !

Un merveilleux séjour ! Les propriétaires ont été des hôtes adorables. Pascale fait le maximum pour rendre le séjour agréable, la gentillesse et les sourires sont toujours présents. On a envie de garder cette adresse pour nous tellement on s'y sent bien. Je recommande ce gîte les yeux fermés. Les prestations sont de qualité, la maison est très jolie et confortable,l'environnement est sublime. Comme le dirait un acteur connu, que demander de plus ?

Sejour etoilé Pour tous ceux qui rêvent de voir le bras d'Orion (la Voie lactée) dans toute sa splendeur et son intégralité, c'est l'endroit rêvé. Aucune pollution lumineuse, c'est le moment de sortir vos cartes du ciel et vos télescopes! Et en plus la piscine est magnifique et les propriétaires sont vraiment adorables. Nous y avons passé un excellent séjour.
