Nous avons passé 3 jours agréables dans cette charmante maison parfaitement équipée, au jardin merveilleux et très bien située ! Les photos et la description sont conformes à la réalité. Nous avons pu nous reposer et profiter tous ensemble, notamment grâce à la multitude de jeux et d'équipements. L'espace de vie est parfait (6 adultes et 2 enfants) et les chambres confortables. L'extérieur soigné est fantastique pour manger, flâner, jouer et se baigner. Mélanie est adorable, discrète et disponible. Un gros coup de cœur des petits comme des grands pour les dizaines de cochons d'Inde ! Ils sont adorables !

Wir waren zum zweiten Mal auf der Durchreise an die Atlantikküste mit unseren Kindern (zwischen 7 und 19 Jahren) für zwei Tage bei Melanie und Richard. Das schönste für uns ist der riesige Garten mit dem großen, blitzeblanken Pool und die Ruhe. Das Haus ist sehr gut ausgestattet und sehr sauber. Melanie und Richard waren sehr freundlich, hilfsbereit und unkompliziert. Es gibt es sehr viele Spiele für drinnen und draußen und sehr viele Meerschweinchen. Wir kommen sehr gerne wieder!

La casa es tal cual aparece en las fotos y.la zona exterior es amplisima y cuidada con una piscina preciosa. Estuvimos muy a gusto (los niños los que mas). Los anfitriones discretos y amables.

Chatelet is beautifully situated in lovely countryside--surrounded by fields of sunflowers in full bloom, and hay being harvested. Waking up to birds singing, quiet sunshine streaming in the window, was truly refreshing. The house has been lovingly renovated, with attention paid to modern conveniences, and is very comfortable. The pool is super--large and sparkling clean. Our favorite thing about the house was the abundance of fun family activities that were available: croquet and other lawn games, tetherball, hammocks, swimming, board games, DVDs, relaxing on the many lounge chairs, and admiring the guinea pigs. Melanie was helpful before our arrival in suggesting possible activities, and was extremely prompt in replies to questions we had. She was welcoming and informative during check-in, but though she lives nearby we never felt that we were being watched as we enjoyed the property. It was a refreshing, marvelously relaxing week for our group (5 adults and 3 children). The only two slight imperfections that marred our time there were these: We had not noticed upon booking that the property description lists no clothes dryer. There is a clothes drying rack provided, but it is sometimes awkward in mixed groups to have clothing hanging out to dry in plain view. This wasn't a huge problem, just an unexpected one (due solely to our lack of noticing this in the property description). A more significant drawback was the lack of fast internet. When it was available, it was slow. This was frustrating, because we wanted to plan daily excursions and book tickets for later in our vacation, but because of the slow internet it was almost impossible to map locations or find out information about potential destinations. Again, if other guests come into their trips to Chatelet with this knowledge, they will be able to plan and work around this drawback. We have great memories of our trip here, and will without hesitation recommend it to friends of ours who might want a tranquil stay in the French countryside, within driving distance of many interesting sites to visit. We'd love to come back someday!

We've been home for 3 days and are already planning our next visit. Home from Home, the villa was beautiful. Lovely touches such as DVDs, CDs, garden games which added to our experience when the weather got too hot. We made full use of the BBQ, had the pool to our selves, which we made full use of. Melanie and Richard were brilliant hosts and gave us good tips for the area. Highly enjoyable holiday experience

We had a fantastic time here for the week in August 2018. The children loved every minute of the holiday. The swimming pool is a fantastic size and provided wonderful entertainment. The grounds are massive and the hammocks are very relaxing indeed. The farmhouse itself is gorgeous and the two sets of stairs allowed my older daughters their own part of the house which they really enjoyed. An extensive stock of DVDs provided some lovely family films in the evening and we even squeezed in a bit of free view watching too. I can not recommend this place highly enough it’s such a lovely place. What made it even better were Melanie and Richard who were on hand to offer advice and some excellent suggestions of places to visit as we were new to the area. This beautiful property is in an ideal location for househunting, holidays and 'get away from it all' short breaks. On arrival we were warmly welcomed by our hosts, Richard and Mel, who then showed us around the property where we met the menagerie of animals, the firm favourites being the runner ducks, although the guinea pigs who are in liberty in the garden were a close second. Our evening meals were on par with any first class restaurant and the breakfasts more than ample. The swimming pool was a welcome chill out after a busy day and there were many interesting things with which the children could entertain themselves, the trampoline being well used. There are many places well worth visiting near by, La Vallee des Singes is a must and the Silver Mines at Melle are very interesting. It is one of the best places in which we have ever stayed and will definitely go back there again and heartily recommend it as a 'must stay' as nothing was too much trouble for Richard and Mel....amazing hosts.

he most beautiful gite we have stayed in! Run by the nicest people you could ever wish to meet! This was our first family holiday abroad with our children and we didn't want for anything! When we arrived late at night the inside of the gite was just 'wow', clean, spacious and has all the mod cons while still being a cute farmhouse. In the morning we woke up to discover huge gardens, crystal clear pool, trampoline, swings, hammocks, table tennis, free range guinea pigs and much much more! The owners were so welcoming and helpful and make the most delicious food...if you book in to eat with them you will not want to eat anywhere else again! This place is simply perfect, for families, couples or with friends! We will definitely be returning! Thank you so much for a fantastic holiday!!!!
