😊: The view from the villa was nice. 😢: I stayed at Castel Carpe Diem in Mouans-Sartoux this summer with my family and had an awful experience. The place was dirty upon arrival. Notably, one of the rooms lacked any AC, and the remaining AC units were programmed to automatically shut off to reduce electricity consumption, catching us off guard. The only way to reactivate them was to call the owner in the morning. The situation was dire during a heatwave, as my elderly in-laws had to spend the night without AC due to these issues. The most frustrating part was the sudden demand for a deposit at check-in. This requirement was never mentioned or asked for before our arrival, leaving us with no other choice but to comply. They withheld the deposit later, citing noise issues, adding to our dissatisfaction. Communication was non-existent, even when I sought clarification post-stay. The check-in process was chaotic, keys given at 12 PM, and both the concierge and Booking.com rep entered unannounced. Privacy is a concern with numerous cameras around, their status unclear. Moreover, it's worth noting that videos and photos of the property were taken some time ago, and they do not accurately represent the current deteriorated state of the place. The villa feels poorly maintained, and stagnant water around the property allows mosquitoes to thrive. Overall, a highly disappointing stay marred by false promises, poor communication, and disregard for guest comfort. I strongly advise against booking here..
