Holiday cottage - Morosaglia

😢: We were spending our second night at the property when, at 2am on Wednesday 20th May, four of my party were awoken by the smoke alarm in the second-floor hallway. We found the second-floor bathroom full of smoke from the wall-mounted heater, which was glowing red hot. We opened the bathroom window, switched off the heater and dismantled the smoke alarm to disable it. None of my party had touched the heater since we arrived (it was quite warm at this time of year), therefore I assume it had either been left on or switched itself on automatically. Identical heaters were in all of the bedrooms, and it is terrifying to think what might have happened because only the two hallways were equipped with smoke detectors. In addition: I nearly fell down the stairs thanks to a broken tile, the gas/oven hob was inoperable, the two kettles were both broken, the refrigerator was switched off (we didn't realise for 24hrs because the light was on), there was no lock/latch on the first floor bathroom door which blew open whenever the front door was opened, my bedroom wardrobe was locked and full of the owner's property, there were no bin bags, the owner presented me with a bill that was higher than that stated on Booking.com, and I had an ongoing nightmare dealing with Novasol, the middle men..
