Holiday cottage - Thilouze

😊: A wonderfully secluded and isolated location to relax and forget the world! The owners were very amicable and have thought of practically everything. A plunge pool for cooling off, table tennis, really well-equipped kitchen, outdoor dining, washing machine, BBQ, excellent showers. It is a beautifully restored cow shed and was a lovely, comfortable base for excursions to local villages and Chateaux. There are boulangeries in Villeperdue and Thilouze. Thilouze has a small supermarket with most essentials (locally made pate was fantastic; as was the local speciality, rillons). For fresh fruit and veg and dairy products you are better going to the small grocer/delicatessen in Sorigny. The bar-tabac in Villeperdue were friendly. Restaurants in Azay-le-Rideau are excellent. Old Tours is wonderful to explore.. 😢: Our stay was at the height of summer and the bedrooms were uncomfortably hot. We bought some fans and donated them to the house! Be sure to come prepared with coils and/or candles to deter mosquitoes....

Good place to stay for exploration of the the Loire valley. Bedrooms under rooftop during hot summer nights can have imact on sleep.

Loved the accommodation. Will return. Quiet but close to the tourist attractions best of both worlds.
