Holiday home at the foot of the vines

Das Haus hat alles, was es braucht. Diesmal kam eine Klimaanlge hilfreich hinzu. Das Beste sind die schönen alten Bäume auf dem Gelände vor dem Haus. Hinter dem Haus ist es etwas kahl, deswegen nehmen wir den Tisch und die Stühle nach vorne. Unter den Bäumen lässt es sich aushalten.

Lovely well kept Gite a few minutes walk from the centre of Castillon-la-Bataille. Very well presented and all the equipment you need for an enjoyable stay. The garden is private and overlooks a a hillside of vineyards. So relaxing. Also close to the train station with easy access to St Emilion and Bordeaux in one direction and Bergerac and Salat la caneda in the other. Stayed here twice now and can recommend it to others.

Maison très agréable et bien équipée. Belle vue sur les vignes dans le jardin. Cécile est très disponible et de bon conseil. Nous reviendrons avec plaisir dans ce logement.

Nous avons été enchantés par notre location, au calme tout en permettant de jolies balades dans les environs, gare très proche, centre ville avec beaucoup d'activités pour bles enfants. Nous avons pu faire un atelier artistique parents-enfants, pas mal de visites, de belles balades... La maison est bien équipée, avec vue sur les vignes, voisinage très calme... Et le soleil était au rendez-vous 🤗 Nous reviendrons ! PS : merci pour le cadeau de bienvenue !

Nous avons passé un agréable séjour à castillon. Rien à redire sur l appartement qui nous convenait très bien, proche du centre. Le propriétaire est très arrangeant pour les arrivées et le départ. Merci

The property is ideally situated between Libourne and St Foy, it is a short walk into town and the banks of the Dordogne. The property itself is clean and well equipped. It has everything we wanted

This house is lovely. It is clean and well equipped with everything you need for a short or long stay. Outside there was a table and chairs with an umbrella where you could sit and look out onto the vines behind the property and enjoy a glass of local wine left for us by the owner. Thankyou Jerome. There were also Bicycles in the shed for guests use. Inside the bed was comfortable as was the lounge and the shower good. Communication with the owner was good and prompt and check in was easy. The area is good for exploring the vinyards and surrounding area. Note the train into Bordeaux is not running at the moment. There is a park and ride about twenty minutes away which is easy and cheap. The town of Castillion-Bastille is nothing much and as a previous reviewer mentioned there is nowhere where you can just go to have a coffee. We had dinner at home or went into St Emillion which is about 15-20 minutes away and has lots of restauants and cafes.

Our house in Castillon-la Bataille was exactly what I wanted. This house was the perfect size for our two month stay. Since we are from the US it had the totally French farmhouse feel I was looking for but was updated and had a kitchen with every convenience needed. I most enjoyed the outdoor area with the front porch looking out on a spacious yard with 15 trees and the backyard was large and had a view if the vineyard behind it. It was equipped with a large table and chair set and umbrella. During our visit we had friends and family visit and felt it was the perfect place to sit with a glass of wine or sharing a meal or bar-b-que. The town of Castillon was a bit of a disappointment as it wasn't very conducive for sitting for a café and croissant or walking around. I would recommend Le Mounan, La Fontaine de Manon and a small place just on the other side of the river by the bridge called La Plage for dining, Fortunately, the train station is a 5 minute walk and is your magic carpet ride to things in the area. We availed ourselves of it numerous times for both Bordeaux and Sarlat-au- Canada. adventures. Also highly rated sights to visit St Emilion, Arcachon for the beach, Beynac canoe trip is also marvelous and the monthly bio festival at Chateau des Rochers on the hill above the house. The house was perfect for our needs and the walks we took in the area were very beautiful. We took advantage and wandered above the hill for the gorgeous views, along the river and through the outlying neighborhoods.
