Holiday home in Lacave for 5 people (with heated swimming pool in 2023)

We really enjoyed our stay here, for the most part. The property is a comfortable, lovingly updated house in a good location for getting to many of the area attractions. It is accurately described in the listing, Jerome is a helpful, speedy communicator, and the pool is a great recent addition. And the house and area information provided in the "house book" is probably the best we have encountered in 30 years of renting holiday properties from owners. However, a couple of things which may not be problematic for most were a bit tricky for us. We consider ourselves animal lovers; we put some of the supplied food out regularly while we were there, and enjoyed watching the antics of the kittens. However, if we opened the window on the ground floor, we had kittens on the kitchen counter. If we tried to eat in the beautiful outside area, we had kittens going after our plates. Note that I specified "kittens". This will probably not be an issue when they get older and have learned some manners. The other aspect that turned out to be more of a problem than we anticipated was the absence of wifi. (This was no surprise--it is clearly spelled out in the property listing.) We thought that we would be fine with the data service on our mobiles, but unfortunately the coverage was very spotty. This was mostly just an irritation, but became more of an issue when we had to try to resolve a major issue with our accomodations for the following week. Nous avons passé un excellent séjour au Bougayrou! L'accueil a été excellent, avec de délicates attention, et la maison est très agréable, très joliment décorée. La localisation permet également d'aller très rapidement à Rocamadour, Souillac ou Martel et de profiter pleinement de cette jolie région. Et en plus, Cuistout est un chat adorable :) Nous recommendons vivement ce logement!

Nach 2019 waren wir wieder in diesem sehr schönen Ferienhaus. Ein toller Ort für die völlige Entspannung. Das Haus ist komfortabel eingerichtet mit tollem Schlafzimmer und Bad unterm Dach. Ideal als Ausgangsort für Radtouren, Paddeln und Baden und wunderschöne Dörfer überall.

Nous avons passé un séjour parfait dans cette maison de charme , parfaitement au calme dans un petit hameau de caractère au bord de la Dordogne . La maison est bien équipée, l'espace extérieur tout à fait agréable pour les repas et à la détente à l'ombre de la treille . Elle est également très bien située à la fois pour les ballades dans les Causses (notamment en vélo mais VAE recommandés !) ou le long de la rivière et pour les nombreux sites de visite de la région . We enjoyed our stay. Many beautiful nearby villages to explore. Cottage very comfortable for 2 couples. A 5 minute drive to bakery and small supermarket. Only minor downside is lack of internet .Would highly recommend.

We spent a great week in Lacave. The house is great, furnished with style, cozy, the kitchen has really everything. With 2 adults and 2 teens it was perfect - however most of the time we have spent outside and this is just wonderful (although located in a small village we felt great on this terrace in front of the house). Connection to small stores or Boulanger is close enough (5 min.), bathing in Dordogne river is also very close and a wonderful relaxing and refreshing thing to enjoy. The hosts took great care to give a lot of details of any kind for the visitors. So we can only say Merci! and definitively recommend it.

Had a wonderful 7 days relaxing in the Dordogne region. The house was very well presented, Maude met us on arrival and showed us around the property, lots of extra features and decor that were really appealing. Loved the log fire, kept us cozy on cool evenings. This region of Quercy is particularly beautiful, with lovely villages, castles and Chateau, A must to visit is Rocamadour only 20 minutes from the house. Also very impressed with Gouffe De Padirac, a very impressive journey through caves with huge stalagtites, partly by boat and part walking. Jerome provided a lot of very useful information in the red folder describing items in the house and information about the surrounding area, great that it was presented in both French and English with bountiful pictures to aid understanding. My wife and I truly enjoyed staying at Jerome’s place and would love to come visit again. Lorenz and Ginny Hansen
