😊: The very good thing about the accomodation is the location: about 15-20 mins to city center. BUT the area is a bit sketchy.. 😢: Things we enjoyed less/things that could be improved: - the sheets were clean, the things in the kitchen were clean (cups, fridge etc) but: there were lots of spiderwebs all over the apt (signs that the cleaning in general is superficial), the bathroom might be cleaned but it does not feel like it (the WC is rusty and outdated, there is mold quite everywhere un the bathroom) - the space upstairs has very low ceiling for a 1.8 m person - the beds feel quite hard and the pillows are not very comfortable (we had a good sleep but do not expect best sleep conditions) - very important and not mentioned: the main door entrace and the windows are opening literally on the street; people on the street are passing right next to your window - does not feel safe (nothing happened but there were moments when people were stopping om the street to talk right in front of the windows and it is not confortable). There are curtains so you have intimacy but still not comfortable. - the is a sign that there is camera survailance - most probably not. - we parked in front of the apt, all good. But do take all your belongings out from the car as the area is, as mentioned before, a bit sketchy.

😊: We loved the decor of this place, and the location too. It was far enough out of the busy city centre to be a bit quieter in general, but not too far away to walk through a funky neighbourhood to the centre. The beds were very comfortable, but we prefer firm mattresses, which these were (almost futon style). We liked the fact there were portable small air-conditioning units to use while we were there - they helped not only keep us cool, but drown out any street/tram noise from outside. We liked the facilities overall, and found the small extra touches like the coffee maker with coffee pods to use very nice. We liked the fact there was an excellent restaurant nearby (Goupil) and a Lidl within walking distance too. And it was not far from the river as well, which was lovely to walk along.. 😢: The extractor fan did not work (or was not there) in the bathroom, which meant the bathroom got musty and humid, and could be a bit smelly too, especially if the door was closed. There was no shower gel and/or shampoo in the shower provided. The shower water tended to leak onto the floor which soaked the fabric bath mat. The stairs to the upper floor were a bit narrow and could be difficult to navigate for slightly older people, but not terrible. There were some mosquitos in the place, despite there being screens on the windows, and both me and my husband got several bites while staying there. Despite there being soap in dispensers in the bathroom and kitchen, the dispensers were nearly empty when we arrived, so we had to buy some more to top these up. If you did not use the small air-conditioning units to help drown out the street noise, and only had the windows open for cooler/fresh air then at night the noise from the nearby tram turning the corner or dinging its bell could keep you awake, as well as some people passing by on the pavements..

😊: The apartment was really beautifully put together, very relaxing colours and very clean and was charming. The beds were comfy, the bathroom was nicely stocked with hand wash etc. We were happy to arrive here. The location *seemed* ideal in terms of proximity to the centre of town - easily walkable. The host was very responsive when we asked for another towel. The kitchenette was very basic but fine for making a cup of coffee. It's hard to eat anything substantial there as the equipment is very basic.. 😢: Unfortunately the street is between the train station and a park. We parked our car on the street and on the second night it was vandalised, a window smashed and two bags stolen. So if you drive to Bordeaux DO NOT PARK your car on the street. This is not the owner's fault at all - but just be aware if you stay here and don't be lulled into a false sense of security..
