House 10 pers near Utah landing 15 min from the sea,

What a lovely home! Normandy can be pretty rainy and obviously arrangements have been made for self entertainment. In addition to the pool table and foosball table, there were many board games. There was a lovely little koi pond, outside chairs for when it’s nice, an adjacent meadow with chickens and a friendly black and white cat (outside only!). The kitchen is well supplied with dishes and cooking implements so eating out all the time isn’t necessary. The decor is modern and cheerful. My husband is disabled and has trouble with stairs, so we were happy with our bedroom and bathroom that was only one step down. Four bedrooms were upstairs! Even apart from the five D-day beaches nearby, just staying in this home was a vacation on its own.

We were charged a cleaning fee that was not posted in description, which was a surprise! Even when you pay the cleaning fee, you are expected to vacuum the house, clean the toilets and wipe down the kitchen. We've never had to do that before and have rented MANY VRBOs. You can choose to clean from top to bottom and not pay the cleaning fee. I think because of this policy, there were a few things that weren't totally spotless. I'm pretty picky so I would rate it 9 out of 10 on that issue. Otherwise the house was VERY spacious (I think 5 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms, but we only used a couple.) All necessities were provided for, including sheets and towels (which are not always provided in French VRBOs)! Delphine was helpful and spoke English. She also recommended an excellent bakery. You have to meet her at arrival and departure for the key exchange, but she accommodated our 7am departure. The house was about a 30 minute drive to Normandy area and we saw lots of sights at Omaha Beach, etc. We would recommend this VRBO!

Great house for trip to Normandy on our motorcycles,has everything that you need, spacious and ideally located for visiting all the historic sites and memorials around Normandy

This was perfect for a family holiday. The house is clean, spacious and very well equipped for those who want to cook and eat in-house. The garden is lovely, with lots of space and with different areas to sit out. The gite is about a 10 minute walk from Carentan, or a few minutes in the car. Carentan is about 60 minutes easy driving from Caen. Our host, Mme Haubois, was very welcoming and gave us some good ideas on where to eat and visit, and sorted out a minor issue with the washing machine very quickly. I can highly recommend this gite for a family holiday!.

First class, big enough for 6 adults and 4 children, superb host manage just about with broken English, plenty to do in short distances, highly recommend

Delphine is a wonderful host who makes you feel like family. The house is well taken care of, clean, perfectly located and wonderfully decorated. It is a great home and an excellent central location for a Normandy vacation.
