House / Villa - Isle sur la sorgue

There were only 3 of us so we each had our own space. It was very hot that week so we ventured out in the morning, ate lunch out and came back to enjoy the pool. It was too hot to walk into town but we did manage to find parking places and explore the shops. There are several good supermarkets, boulangeries and pâtisseries nearby. We enjoyed a meal at Namaste, a restaurant at the end of the road. The person who met us at the house didn’t speak much English but we managed to communicate. The owner was very responsive and helpful with our questions. Highly recommend!

Perfect The house is not new, but full of charme and peacefulness, we all (grandparents, parents, kids and dog) enjoyed it very much! Many thanks Genevieve for letting us stay in your place!

The house is super well equipped and has lots of space and opportunities inside and outside. You can walk into town (20min) or take the bike. Just follow the river. Three restaurants in close walking distance if you want to eat out. We had four small kids 0-4 with us and they could play all around the house while we felt very safe with it. Once the gate is closed you are in your own little paradise with zero disturbance. Two big supermarkets are 5min by car or 10min by bike. A great Boulangerie is in about 1km distance. We had 10 really good days here and would always come back.

We loved every moment of our stay in this wonderful vacation home. The beautiful river next door with fish, dragonflies, and birds made it even better. We look forward to come back in the coming years.

Before the actual start of our holiday I had a pleasant contact with the owner. Our actual stay was also very pleasant, the house is very luxurious and fully equipped. We liked the fact that every bedroom had a bathroom with a toilet. A supermarket with chargers for electric vehicles is at walking distance. It is also a great base for places like Gordes, Roussillon, Mount Ventoux and Avignon.

We had a great stay in Genevieve’s place. It was perfect size for the seven of us. We really enjoyed having the extra bathrooms. The river is beautiful, and we enjoyed having a kayak light over briefly to see the cold We did lots of day trips, but we could’ve just stayed in the village and enjoyed our trip just as much probably as there are good markets twice a week, plus lots of interesting stores and restaurants and cafes

Overall, we had a nice stay at La Gardiole. We enjoyed the serene location, the spacious layout, the completely secure and private parking, the well-maintained (unheated?) pool and lounge area, taking the canoe on the river, and that the house was well-equipped. We appreciated that there were gates protecting the pool area and the river access; the shutters kept the house cool and the retractable screens on some rooms helped keep bugs out. We had issues with checking in, as the managers did not want to give us the fifth bedroom (with the fourth “real” bed) and fourth bathroom; we had to show photos for them to reluctantly give us access, as it is upstairs on the exterior of the house. It would also be helpful if they had a pre-written sheet in other languages explaining what they were telling us for check-in/-out, as we struggled and had to use internet translations. We also thought the house could use a thorough dusting and mopping. We also found the clutter of cleaning products stored on the kitchen patio and the entry windowsill detracted from the overall charm of this lovely house. Genevieve was very communicative and a pleasure to work with. We appreciated her informative emails prior to arrival. The property is perfectly located with a car to take day trips around the region and a welcome haven to come home to at the end of the day.

The property was excellent in a wonderful location. So peaceful by the river, we couldn't have wished for more. The pool was delightful and we were so lucky with the weather we made full use of it. The villa was as described and well equipped with crockery and cutlery and also very clean. Quite disappointed with the standard and quality of the bed linen, for which we had to pay extra on top of the rental charge. Was also surprised that the caretakers seemed to expect us to clean before we left having paid €150.00 for cleaning. It was also difficult that the caretakers spoke no English. As people from all over the world would book the property, English being a more international language would likely to be understood by more people. Overall, I would have no hesitation in recommending this property to anyone. The owner: Genevieve was very helpful and easy to deal with. She responded to any questions very promptly. There were six of us in our group and we all had a great time in a little piece of heaven.
