L 'appart - Aubenas

😊: I booked l'Appart for a solo cycling holiday exploring the region, and wanted a simple, town centre base. It's on a quiet street and only a very short walk from a bakery, shops and cafes/bars/restaurants. I arrived by coach and it's only yards from the coach stop. Aubenas isn't huge but has some cultural life and is welcoming to tourists. The landscape around is varied and wonderful. All contact with Guillemette was via messaging which was fine, and she was always prompt and helpful. L'Appart has some character and quirks - it's not all 2020's decor - and still provides comfort and all the essentials. I did no cooking but used the washing machine daily. I stayed there during the July 2026 heatwave when daytime temperatures nudged 40c and it was mid-20's at night. L'Appart doesn't have airconditioning but has shutters to the large front windows and doors to a rear courtyard, so while it was still hot, it kept about as cool as anywhere could by natural means.. 😢: I can't think of anything which needed changing. As noted above, it relies on natural cooling in summer which for some people might be a downside, but the simple charm compensates!.
