😢: We couldn’t find the apartment for over an hour. We tried to contact the owner by phone, text message, and email, but without success. Local people helped us find the apartment because the description was completely unhelpful. When we finally found it, the information we had received two weeks earlier — about how to get in and which code to use — was outdated, and we couldn’t access the apartment. Since there was no way to reach the owner, we canceled the reservation through Booking.com. Only some time after we canceled and had already booked a hotel did the owner get in touch, saying he was ill and had forgotten to send us the correct code. Despite the cancellation, neither Booking.com nor the owner refunded our money, and we never received the correct code anyway.
