L'Éclat Chartrain : Appartement Cosy

😊: Location was great within Chartres, and having a car park space with a QR code (shame it didn’t work). Also Chartres worked for a day trip to Fontainbleau. The bed was comfortable; the rooms were spacious.. 😢: On arrival we found the apartment dusty and cleaning was lacking, but not terrible. The Microwave position unsafe - it is placed 6’ high, above head height, and there is a real risk you will drop hot liquid on yourself. Not the fault of the property, the Car Park QR code didn’t work apart from once; this means you have to call the sleeping security guard, allow 5 minutes for them to wake up and answer your call, and then let you in or out. There are signs that this property is managed from afar, and standards are not kept high by whoever is in Chartres. There is a missing door handle on the bedroom. The Key box is not numbered, so when you arrive you have four options to work your way through until you find the right one. There was no soap in the bathroom hand pump. There was no tea towel, so you end up using a towel for drying dishes in the kitchen. The key to the main door jammed in the lock on two occasions. We applied a little bit of vaseline and it seemed to be OK, but we were worried we wouldn't be able to get it out. There is nothing here which is really poor, but lots of niggly items that just cause you not to have a relaxing time. A normal tourist would expect more. Be aware, it is up three flights of spiral stairs and the car park is also only accessible by using stairs (the lift only goes up to the -1 level). The Kitchen is tight on space for anyone wanting to do any catering. The location is great, and the car park would be helpful if it worked better..

😊: Location is perfect. Right near the station, a few minutes walk from the Cathedral, museums, older city areas. Spacious, airy and very comfortable apartment, large and very comfortable bedroom, generous eat-in kitchen with all facilities, good washing machine in bathroom, very spacious and well furnished lounge room. Felt like a real home. Lots of windows in two directions for air flow and light, shutters are there if you need them.. 😢: 3 floors of circular staircase is a bit more difficult for older or less fit folks; weak water pressure in shower (in bathtub)..

😊: Excellent location. Well equipped.. 😢: Hot water pressure very low. Shower was a trickle and would have taken a very long time to run a bath. Very noisy from apartment above..

😊: This apartment had lots of room and was very clean and comfortable..
