L'Ôlive, cottage écologique 2 personnes

We were at the property during a heatwave when the area was the hottest place in Europe. The temperature hit 43 degrees C and the property has no air conditioning. However, we followed Sebastien's guidance about keeping the doors, windows and curtains closed during the day. He also brought us a fan and we had a very comfortable time. This is because the property is so well built and positioned in its environment. It is nestled in the trees with three other similar properties, with enough distance between them that you have privacy but without feeling isolated. The pool and its surroundings are wonderful, and because there are only the four properties, a lot of the time it feels like your own personal pool. The site is about 5 miles from the nearest shops, bars and restaurants so you need to remember to do all your shopping if you are staying in. L'Olive was very well equipped and we enjoyed cooking on the outdoor hot plate. We are keen cyclists and walkers and there was plenty to do in the beautiful landscape all around the property without having to get in the car and go somewhere first to start. Part of L'Ardechoise cycle route passes through the next village and you can follow this excellent, signposted route up into the high hills. After a hard day's cycling or walking, the local wines, available from the Cave in Lablachere, after a suitable degustation, are delicious and great value. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at L'Olive and hope to return very soon.

Nous avons passé cinq jours dans ce très joli gîte très bien aménagé et bien équipé. L' endroit est calme et les alentours agrestes. L' hôte, Sébastien, est très gentil et accueillant. Nous y reviendrons avec plaisir.
