La belle vue Laonnoise

😊: Nice location in a very beautiful town.. 😢: Cleanliness not that great, very dusty radiators and skirting boards in bathroom, dangerous narrow spiral stairs without banister to reach the property on the 2nd floor which is not stated on the booking description at all. No parking at the property or street outside so you have to drive around looking for spaces which are mainly requiring a permit. I was travelling alone with 4 children 3 of whom are under the age of 2.5 so would not recommend for children. Heating did not work in main bedroom so I ended up having to sleep in the children’s room half way through the night as I was freezing cold even with blanket. Other than that the property and location is great for a couple that are either not driving or don’t mind walking to the property..

😊: It is a lovely old quaint property with a winding staircase right in the heart of the old town. It was perfectly adequate for us on a one night stay whilst en route to the alps. Basic but comfortable.. 😢: We received an email on the day of travel itself asking to pay a 300 euro deposit to secure entry to the property. Luckily I saw this email (despite travelling). Having paid this at 5pm UK time and then driving to the property nobody was there to meet us on arrival. We hadn't received a code for the keybox. It was -2 degrees and we were left outside. We tried numerous telephone numbers on the reservation listing but there was no answer. Finally we got through and they asked us to pay the deposit. I told them we had done it 4 hours ago and then they finally gave us the keycode for the keybox. This was 2nd January 2026 and I finally got the deposit back on 22nd January 2026 having had to chase it up..
