La Capitainerie - Maison 6p avec grande terrasse

😊: The communication was excellent and the lady turned up at the exact moment she said she would with the keys. The location is so fantastic, sitting on either of the two spacious terraces you get a view straight over the Erdre and lovely water boats. The shop is 50m away as is a local bar, the riverside walks up to the Japanese Gardens are lovely in the evening with plenty of outside bars. It's easy to walk into the old town and its huge array of restaurants and cafes. The rooms are huuuge! Each of us (4 old chaps) had our own shower in our room, the top floor even has its own kitchen to add to the enormous one downstairs. To go a bit further (Machines de Ile) we used the tram from the stop about 40m away (free at the weekends). Excellent levels of cleanliness and a great array of alll the facilities you could ask for.. 😢: One of the rooms had a bunk bed with rather a steep (vertical ladder) this would have been absolutely fine for younger folk but I couldn't manage it - put the mattress on the floor which was fine - as I say, for normal folk this would be fine but we were a bunch of pensioners..

La Capitainerie is a wonderful place to stay in Nantes. It is located in an ideal place for tourists, with may restaurants and places of interest to see within walking distance. An open-air market is a 5-minute walk and has a huge variety of fresh food choices. We visited the market many times to select our seafood, meat and vegetables to cook. The unit is well-designed for families to enjoy. It is very clean and very well equipped. We spent many afternoons on the 3rd terrace enjoying a before-dinner drink and enjoying the scenery. We hope to visit Nantes again in the future and will certainly book La Capitainerie again.
