La Garenne - Fantastic Gite with pool in 30+ acres nr Bergerac

Excellent stay in a lovely home. Very good concept of 3 beautifully renovated gîtes sharing a very pleasant pool. Teens loved it! Great location to fully appreciate the surrounding vineyards, the medieval bastide of Eymet and certainly the most British French countryside.

Nous sommes un groupe d'amis et nous avons occupé les gîtes La Garenne et La Ferme pour les fêtes de fin d'année 2018. Nous avons été très bien accueillis et nous avons passé un excellent séjour dans ce petit hameau restauré en pleine nature. Les gîtes sont confortables et bien équipés. Les charpentes ont été préservées dans plusieurs chambres, ce qui leur donne un caractère rustique très.agréable Le poêle à bois du gîte La Garenne associé à de nombreux chauffages électriques ont permis de maintenir une bonne température malgré des conditions climatiques très hivernales.

Lovely, tranquil location with excellcent facilites. Really enjoyable stay. The surrounding countryside is very beautiful with picturesque towns and villages. The accommodation is clean, comfortable and well equipped. The owners have thought of everything with some nice touches like a hammock under the shady terrace. The owners are very welcoming and informative about all the local markets and amenities which we really enjoyed visiting. Can't wait to visit again.

The hosts of the property were very polite and helpful with planning our holiday around the dordogne. Very picturesque surroundings across the property leading to some stunning sunsets and sunrises. The holiday had the perfect balance of things to do nearby in Eymet and in Bergerac as well as relaxing by the pool and walking the grounds. I would recommend the property to families who want a relaxing holiday as well as keen explorers of the dordogne region.

What a fantastic holiday we spent three weeks here and enjoyed every minute of it. The accommodation is very big plenty of space and well equipped. As a professional chef I was very pleased at the kitchen facilities offered big range two ovens and large American fridge freezer with ice dispenser. the views were wonderful and peaceful the pool very refreshing on a hot day but the jaccuzi on the terrace saw many a late night bottle of wine enjoyed inside till the early hours. Overall very friendly hosts who were accommodating and helpful nothing too much to ask, close to beautiful Eymet and only 25 mins from Airport will definately return if in this part again .

We had a fantastic week at La Garenne. The house was rustic, clean, spacious and comfortable, but we spent most of the week outside. The pool was a key part our week and our 6-year old daughter was in the water at least five times a day - with the shallow end shallow enough that she and her new friend could play together without us actually needing to be in the water with them. Perhaps our only concern when booking was that having several gites around a pool might not be very private, but this proved unfounded as each gite has its own private space. The immediate countryside is picturesque and there is plenty to explore in the surrounding area. Paul and Dearbhla were perfect hosts and couldn't do enough to make our stay more comfortable. A lovely place that we would definitely come back to.

Good sized accommodation although a little tired in areas. Excellent outside facilities and pool. Very friendly and approachable hosts with good knowledge of the local area.

We've just returned from a smashing week, a perfect balance of things to do to keep everybody happy and a relaxing get away from it all site....even though the weather was mixed. Greeted by fields of sunflowers and vineyards, the Gite is pretty, clean, comfortable and lots of space and everything you would need. The owners live on site which is reassuring but by no means intrusive.Nicely set out for privacy or for mixing with other families. Pool a lovely size, and a nice big field which accommodated the football, rugby and cricket needs of 2 boys, and the owner even cut the grass to make things even better. Bicycles, Table tennis and Boules matches helped to fill the days. At first a little worried we were maybe too far from the big attractions of the Dordogne, we decided we had got it just right, The local medieval town of Eymet is so pretty and some nice reasonable restaurants... we were lucky to have coincided with a medieval festival. Bergerac a lovely market. 40 minutes in one direction St Emillion ( definitely argue about the driving... very beautiful and the free tasting we'd planned a few hours and ended up making a day of it.) and 40 minutes the other direction the caves and canoeing a must , picture postcard Dordogne, and the canoeing was much easier thanexpected, although we did get a taste of how much busier these areas can be. All in all a good choice and yes we would recommend.
