Really comfortable and relaxing.<br>#128578; Monica and Warren were exceptional hosts. The house is beautifully equipped and very clean. I particularly liked that there were thoughtful touches- such as good coffee; olive oil; tea; milk; wine- waiting for us. The river is great for swimming!<br>#128577; In an ideal world the garden would be directly next to the house, (it is a few doors away), but this didn’t matter too much as it was great, shady and large and there was a small terrace for having coffee/ glass of wine.

Gorgeous home away from home<br>#128578; Monica and Warren were really hospitable and had thought of absolutely everything! Gorgeous snacks, milk , wine !! Coffee , milk …. The list goes on 😊 I would recommend this beautiful house for anyone looking for a comfortable stay in a quiet little village next to the river. You can swim in the river, it’s super clean and refreshing! We will be back.

We absolutely loved staying at Monica and Warren’s beautiful house. Monica and Warren were the perfect hosts and we have never stayed in a house so well and so thoughtfully equipped. The house is in the pretty, tranquil village of Bourg Charente and overlooks the river Charente across a quiet paved area. The house was even better than it looked in the photos and our daughter loved her room so much she didn’t want to leave it! We enjoyed sitting on the little terrace enjoying a coffee, watching the swallows from our window and exploring the local area such as the lovely towns of Cognac and Saintes. The river however was the focus of our stay and we took every opportunity to swim in its beautiful clear waters both close to the house and from other little towns dotted along the Charente. Our kids spent hours on the rope swing over the water and it was lovely to see that it is brimming with wildlife. On our last day we had a beautiful cool swim in blazing sun beneath the local chateau whilst a couple of kingfishers flew just above us and dragonflies danced around us. Says it all. Hope to come back.

Très beau gîte, accueil irréprochable avec un souci du détail remarquable au point de se sentir chez soi. La Charente en face du gîte est également un atout charme.
