😊: Our hosts were friendly and helpful. The cottage was beautiful and in a perfect setting next to the chateau. It was very clean and had everything we wanted.. 😢: There was no internet but maybe that was a good thing!.

😊: This self catering accommodation, which is annexed to a château, offers every comfort you could wish for. The owners have thought of everything. It is beautifully furnished, has its own well tended, fenced garden (important as we have a golden retriever), and is set in the château's peaceful parkland. The setting is tranquil, the birdsong is beautiful. The owners made us most welcome, - thank you Claudine and Jean-Pierre, - and loaned us some of their books, enabling us to share their passion for their massive rose collection. Mareuil sur Lay is a pretty little town, and the Château St André and its annexe, La Maison des Roses, are a perfect finishing touch. A heavenly setting , lovely memories and new friendship. 😢: The weather!.
