😊: Tranquillity in the Burgundy countryside We spent two weeks in this lovely small house in the village of Tallant in July. It is an ideal location for exploring the region with many chateaus, medieval villages, museums, caves and gardens to visit nearby as well as the local vineyards and a lake for swimming. The house is well-equipped with a large range cooker, fridge freezer and coffee machine, dishwasher and washing machine. We were also pleased to find a projector and screen which enabled us to connect our laptop and watch World Cup football in style! Upstairs are two spacious bedrooms, one with a walk-in dressing room or cot room, and a large bathroom with a bath and separate shower. The house has been converted from outbuildings belonging to the chateau. The stone construction kept the rooms cool – we visited in a heatwave – and our attentive and friendly concierge Natalie provided a portable air conditioner which enabled a comfortable night’s sleep. There is a pretty and shaded courtyard at the back of the house with flowers and fairy lights, and we dined outside most nights. If you like quiet – often the only sound was the swifts and the bees – and want a base to explore the area, this is an excellent choice with a very friendly welcome..
