La petite Chapelle

😊: Having given 10/10 for each of the other gites we use this trip, I really want to make this 11/10. It is a lovely old building restored to a high quality and fitted out comprehensively and at some expense. The thick stone walls were a godsend during a savage heatwave, and a portable air-con unit was supplied for the warmer upper floor. We liked the quiet location, tucked away in the grounds of a former manor-house, and a stone table outside, with parasol, was great for breakfast and dinner when the shadows were longer. Emmanuelle, our host, was lovely - attentive, generous, always prepared to chat in English or French. We will go back.. 😢: A washing-machine would have been useful (it was the third week of our holiday) - but that is a detail..

😊: The house was beautifully situated beside a peaceful stream, in a quiet area near the park. It was tastefully furnished with a distinctive artistic flair. Great attention to design. Very friendly and helpful owners. I will definately reccomend this place.. 😢: All was great.

😊: Perhaps the most beautiful “Chappelle” one could overnight in. Very tastefully decorated, beautiful stone building with completely modern touches. A great overnight in L’Isle-sur-Serein. Emmanuelle and Gracci are delightful hosts. Very warm and welcoming. And not to be missed is Le Epis d’Or the local bar and social hub of the village run by Madame Kiyo and le beau Serge.. 😢: That I couldn’t stay more than one night.
