La Soldanelle vue lac et montagnes

😊: The view was amazing. Proved a good base for visiting places around the lake and further afield. Nice distance away from Annecy so a little less busy. Other than the cow bells ringing in the field next to the house, the location was very peaceful and quiet. Being on a hill, the breeze was very welcome in the heat. The lounge area with the aircon was wonderful with the hot weather. The other rooms kept cool. Although turning the car around was a little snug, the driveway was not slippy at all. The outside seating was very comfortable and gave a wonderful view of the lake and mountains beyond. The kitchen although being compact had all we needed to cook our simple lunch/ dinner each evening. The freezer is very good for keeping ice creams at the ready. Sophie and Phillipe were very kind and accommodating our basic grasp of French by speaking very good English. Merci beaucoup! Would happily return again!. 😢: The only slight niggle we have is with the locked adjoining door with their property could do with sound/ light proofing. When the host turned the light on their side, the light shone through into our side lighting up the kitchen. At night when the blackout blinds are shut, it woke us up a couple of times. But that is nothing compared to the how well the property has been finished and couldn’t make any other remarks about things we did not like..

😊: A modern, well-appointed apartment with spectacular views of the lake and mountains (photos can't do them justice) through large plate-glass windows. Air-conditioning was a big bonus during a harsh heat-wave, and the outdoor seating area, with large parasol, was ideal for later in the day when the heat died down. Well-located for Annecy and other sites round the lake, especially if you have bikes (though the heat restricted our own use). I strongly recommend this gite.. 😢: Cooking facilities are OK if you are preparing very simple meals, or using ready-cooked meals (from the excellent Super-U in the village) but are cramped otherwise..

😊: Friendly and very helpful host. Beautiful place, newly renovated. Amazing view. Quiet location. Private outdoor area to leasurely enjoy the view of the lake. It was even better than depicted in the photos..
