La Villa du Bonheur - Piscine - Jardin - Honfleur

😊: Great location, quiet but easy walking distance to town, in a lovely wooded setting, very big property and nice pool. Well equipped and lots of toys to play with. 😢: Directions were a bit lacking - the house was hard to find and it would be helpful to have some information on bins etc. The house is a bit tired in places and there is only one air con in the hallway which we couldn’t get to work..

😊: Location is amazing and the pool area and gardens are lovely.. 😢: The property is marketed (and priced) as a premium stay. It could be lovely but we were incredibly disappointed by the terrible foost / damp / mould smell that pervaded the whole property. It seems to come from the lower floor (which we couldn’t use as it was so overwhelming). In addition, the property was surface clean but not deep clean (dusty skirting boards, cobwebs in jugs etc) and just not on top of maintenance (plug sockets coming away from walls, loose door handles, rotten doors, broken fences on raised decking). Also it is marketed on here as having air con but it doesn’t work. Don’t get me wrong, it’s not a horror house but it is absolutely not worth the extremely high price we paid for the week. We’ve stayed locally before, much higher quality for less. So just a bit gutted by the experience..
