La Villa Marais

😊: The location was good. The beds were comfortable. Spacious rooms. Good security and good privacy. Very good bathrooms. Garden design was very attractive. Plenty of cupboard space for clothing etc and also in kitchen with full sized fridge and freezer. Plenty of parking within the property.. 😢: Air conditioning not available end of May/June even though it was 33C upon our arrival and advertised as being included. No hot tub as advertised. No parasol for the garden. An outside washing line would be good so you didn’t need to use the tumble dryer. Bed linen very tired and nothing ironed. We were told there was a gas/charcoal BBQ but no gas or charcoal provided. Mugs/cups inadequate. Two of the three saucepans were not compatible with induction. No electric kettle (as advertised) so boiling water for tea very difficult. Nothing to put bread in. No jugs to put milk, wine, juice in. No cleaning materials, no hoover, swimming pool not clean on arrival and no instructions for pool cleaning machine. No instructions for any of the equipment in kitchen etc. No tourist brochures (there was a link in one of the messages to a few suggestions). No welcome pack other than a tray with a few nespresso capsules and a few biscuits. No salt, pepper, sugar etc and basic items. We travel worldwide as well as within France and have stayed in hundreds of gites/air B&B’s over 50 years and nearly always received a welcome pack of local produce. We also have property that we let and to a high standard. This property was not cheap considering it is not the high season. I feel they need to offer a little more than just the basics. A great shame as it’s a nice house and garden..

😊: Everything. Lots of space, well equipped, pool was lovely with the hot weather. Super quiet and easy to get to local amenities..
