Le Clos de la Vallée de la Créquoise

😊: If there was a category for 'vibes', this property would get an easy ten. A superb 'baby-football' table greeted us as we opened the front door, and many hours of competition later, I feel I can safely boast of my - and my daughter's - skills. The cat Meo visited us some evenings, and we enjoyed sharing our space with such a lovely animal (and missed him when he chose to spend his time with his owners :) In addition, a dog we christened Maggie settled outside our front door one evening, seeking strokes, water and company. When we did see our hosts, they were super-chill and explained that we had the run of the whole garden. In short, this was a near-perfect location for a week in Pas de Calais. We will definitely be back, and our girls are already pressuring us to book for next year.. 😢: Access to the upstairs rooms was a little dangerous for our young children (9, 10, 11) to access - via a metal ladder. We could easily imagine them running as they approached from upstairs, miscalculating and... so we had them sleep downstairs. Luckily, the gite was spacious enough for this not to be any problem at all. We also felt that with just a little investment - baking trays, quality corkscrew, salad spinner etc - the experience would have been lifted into a higher bracket..
