Le Clos Ségur

😊: Old house with character in beautiful location. Views are stunning. House would be great if well maintained.. 😢: Infested with small creatures kept moving around and scratching. Main room smelled strongly of ash, and upstairs rooms of damp. Cupboards in kitchen contained old food packets out of date, and were chaotically arranged so hard to find pans, bowls etc. Note this is quite remote property so catering mainly in house. Freezer compartment iced over so difficult to use. Car parking on public road as advertised but it was not stated that this entailed carrying baggage along a fairly long uneven path. Had booked for 2 weeks but had to leave after only 4 nights as the creatures activity was increasing and they were in the downstairs room as well as attic. Contacted the owner to seek reimbursement for just one of the weeks. She denied the creatures were in the house, stated that there were no problems and quoted booking conditions that no refunds were possible. We believe that this lovely house was not fit for purpose in the state it was in, and therefore she had broken terms of contract. We will be putting this to Booking.com. In the meantime we note that the property has been completely removed from all platforms, so one might question why. Our advice is to be very wary of booking this unless remedial work has been done, and note it is best for fairly active fit people due to location..
