Le Cocon Vernonnais

😊: Location is ok, 20 mins walk from train station in the town of Vernon with plenty of conveniences nearby.. 😢: Disappointing stay. The apartment was not clean, with clumps of hairy dust balls on the bedding, hair (that looked pubic) all over the fridge, sticky kitchen cupboard contents and dirty cookware. The shower thermostat was broken, producing only dangerously scalding water, so there were effectively no usable shower facilities (during a stay of 2 days during 30° + weather). Beware of exposed electrical wiring in the bathroom and 2 open fuse boxes in the living area. For some reason I cannot add photos to this review but I have pics of 5cm + wide clumps of dirt/hair/dust on the bedsheet, a frying pan full of crumbs, 8 or 9 short wiry hairs in the fridge. (When I messaged the owner they said the fridge has been checked but there was so many short and curlies in there I find that impossible to believe. So I sent them photos and videos, and was blocked without comment. Security was poor, as the building's front entrance door is left permanently open with no key provided. I reported everything to the host with photos and videos, but the issues were met with denial, hostility and weren't resolved so I needed to involve customer support (which as a frequent booker on this site I've never had cause to do). Stay literally anywhere else, it's cramped, hotter than hell even with velux open, unsanitary, not secure enough and absolutely not worth the price or inconvenience..
