Le Colombier

😊: It’s difficult to describe just how perfect this property is, without people thinking I’m being paid commission! Located on the outskirts of the beautiful, historic town of Beaugency, it’s peaceful and quiet, yet only a fifteen minute walk to the centre of the old, medieval city that contains a great deal of history. Joan of Arc, Eleanor of Aquitaine, and even Lee Miller visited Beaugency at one time or another… The train station is also a 15 minute walk, and from there you can be in Orléans in 20 minutes, or Paris in 90. The whole area is incredible, the shops and restaurants are inexpensive, and I didn’t have to pay for parking once! There are also lots of car charging stations, and very good boulangeries. Perfect for sunset strolls along the Loire, or days spent exploring the area’s rich history. The property itself is ideal. Its thick, 17th century stone walls keep you cool in the summer heat, but while it’s an old building, it’s very well renovated and modern inside, and has everything you could want, including a good sized kitchen, and a powerful shower. There’s also an eco toilet, which I was quite impressed with. If the property wasn’t great enough already, it’s set in the most beautiful grounds, where you can sit and enjoy being surrounded by nature while enjoying your evening meal and a stunning sunset. Finally, the review wouldn’t be complete without mentioning the owners, Delphine and Guillaume. Both are very warm and welcoming, and they speak excellent English. They’ve worked hard to make the property a place that people would enjoy staying at, and I think they’ve done the perfect job. I’ll certainly be returning!. 😢: That I only had a week there. I could have stayed for a month and been happy and comfortable..
