Le Gatehouse - Clos Mirabel

Le cadre est en tout point parfait : calme et reposant avec une vue magnifique sur les Pyrénées depuis le parc, le gîte étant en retrait, avec son propre jardin. Nous avons constaté que le gîte était propre à notre arrivée et les peintures refaites. Cependant, il reste des améliorations à apporter : le four micro-ondes et la hotte sont assez usagés, la vitre du four est piquetée de points noirs, la gazinière (sale au niveau des boutons de commande) et la hotte blanche (piquetée de beige) ont fait leur temps. Pour le prix demandé, on s'attend qu'un investissement minimum soit fait dans la pièce principale (cuisine+salon). Nos conseils aux propriétaires : unifier la vaisselle, nettoyer à fond les tiroirs de cuisine et moderniser les appareils ménagers. Penser à dégripper les volets durs à l'ouverture/fermeture. Mettre une pince à barbecue à disposition (pour éviter les brûlures). A notre demande, la bouilloire (usagée et impossible à ouvrir) et le grille-pain (poussiéreux et rouillé) ont été changés rapidement. Un ventilateur supplémentaire a été mis à notre disposition. Un grand merci aux personnes qui ont été réactives. A noter également que les lits simples de la 3e chambre sont superposés. Ayant séjourné deux semaines, nous avons apprécié que le linge de maison (draps, serviettes de toilette, torchon) soit changé en milieu de séjour. La piscine est propre et la vue sur la chaîne de montagne incroyable. Des parasols et des transats sont à disposition. Il faudra penser à changer plusieurs transats devenus inconfortables car l'assise est bien enfoncée. Ce qui ne nous a pas empêché de profiter de l'agréable température de l'eau en temps de canicule. Merci aux propriétaires (que nous n'avons pu rencontrer, car eux aussi ont des vacances) de nous avoir autorisés à amener nos deux petits cousins pour profiter de la piscine avec eux.

We stayed in the gatehouse for a week with our 2 children 3 and 1 year old. The one level house is ideal for small children with plenty of space for them to play in the private garden. The location is ideal, only a stroll away from the pool, trampoline and swings, set amongst century old trees. We were very nicely welcomed by Heather and her family. We had dinner at the manor house one evening, and it was superb. The children played with the bunny rabbit whilst we ate lovely food and enjoyed the breathtaking view on the Pyrenees. Overall an amazing place to take the time to relax and enjoy;

We had booked The Gatehouse for a whole month to share with family/friends for a special holiday.We were not disappointed our stay at Clos Mirabel AMAZING!! The beauty and charisma of the whole estate is breath taking! Ann & Andre very welcoming and always happy to help.Ann went far beyond role of host going off in car to collect my stranded husband on a broken cycle! Ann you are a star thank you.A special thank you to Xavier who when we needed a dr,made the calls,translated for us to the dr & Ambulance crew! Also the next day popping in to see how the patient was!!! We felt part of Clos Mirabel's special extended family! The Gatehouse very well stocked kitchen so lovely to have extra cutlery/glasses/plates etc! We had booked a welcome platter what a feast!The garden around The Gatehouse so spacious! Ideal for relaxing in the shade or sun!& for Al Fresco BBQ's! We had the delight of bats appearing each night and a Red Squirrel & lovely Owl!!! Sunsets to revel in and the mountain fresh air so refreshing.After a trip out the pool a real welcome relief! So refreshing and the views outstanding fron the pool terrace! Pau so close to go too for amazing meals,the Chateau,the buildings & ambiance!!! Clos Mirabel,Ann & Andre made our special holiday unique and one we shall treasure. Thank You Jerry & Jules

The accomodation was spacious - plenty of room for my two grown-up sons, my husband, myself, and my son's girlfriend. The large garden was perfect and we spent a lot of time sitting in the garden and eating outside. The outdoor pool which is just outside the main house has stunning views over the valley, vineyards and the Pyranees. I was lovely to spend time there with a bottle of wine in the evening and it was warm enough to swim almost every day of our week's holiday. Ann and Andre were terrific hosts and we were made to feel very welcome. We certainly want to come back and hopefully bring our grandchildren, I know they would love it. A beautiful area, lots to do and see - highly recommended.
