😊: Good location for our specific trip. Bed linen was clean.. 😢: Dated dated dated. Overpowering musty smell that lingered for a long time, even after opening all the windows (we had to ask the owner how to open one shutter due to the button being virtually hidden). The kind of gites I experienced 40 years ago - clearly the home and furniture (etc.) of a old relative who has passed, and no attempt made to renovate since. I dared not take my clothes out of my bag or use the cutlery. No bathroom towels; WC flush not functioning properly; the tiniest of showers; and inadequate segregation between the loo and the kitchen. I am amazed some people have been successfully swindled into thinking this is 'vintage' - which would imply a renovation then an old look recreated; this is not the case. Any old junk, including personal items, is chucked in there. I was fooled by the price, thinking that surely no-one would dare charge 111 euros if it wasn't something really good. It turns out this was the wrong assumption. Sure, people with kids will be pleased that they can roam in the garden / play area / pool, but I was not best pleased when seeing a couple (the neighbours? the owners??) sat having al fresco dinner 5 metres away from the pool, meaning I just dipped and got out as quickly as I could. Given the price, the whole thing was close to a scam. 60 euros would have been just about acceptable. We escaped before 7am before any further offence could be made with breakfast. By then I had no inclination to meet the owner who so brazenly put this on the market. This was particularly galling as this was a special trip with my elderly mother, and I had spotted a much better option in a nearby chateau for just 10 euros more... Ignore the good reviews!.

😊: The host was brilliant and the cottage was charming. The beds were really comfy and the rooms were pitch black. A real touch of old French living. The host let's you use the back garden and kids love it. Really nice quiet village and the price was just right for the property.. 😢: We loved everything but you need to understand that this property is old and quirky and historic which for us is part of an adventure. If you want modern and bright then this property isn't for you..
