Le Mas - House with swimming pool in a privileged environment

We were 6 adults and 6 children for about 2 weeks. The house is located in a nice neighborhood, close to lyon center. It has air-conditioning, which was very important as there was a terrible heat wave for the entire two weeks we were there. The owners have a great style which u can see around the house. It mentiones 6 bedrooms, but one is separate from the main house and not really habitable during heat wave, as the temperature in the extra unit surges to 38 degrees and has no seperate air-conditioning. The garden in the pictures we saw beforehand, was green and beautiful but in real life was totally burned, we were told because of the drought, and they were not allowed to water it, according to the french regulations. The garden hadnt seen a gardener for a long time and it showes. The pool is a great feature, especially in the summer, but the way it is build. ( the bottom part of the pool is slanted from all sides, contrary to what i would have expected, a flat base.which caused us to slip a few times. Not ideal for us as one child of ours is handicapped with stability issues. The house manager is very attentive and always replays very fast and with suggested solutions to any problems raised. To sum up, a very nice house, many personnal touchs but a bit expensive , in retrospect, for the expected return.

Ideal house for 3 generations of family. Lovely outdoor pool, slide, Wendy house, children's playroom as well as basket ball and table tennis for the adults. Super outdoor eating area under pergola and lots of lovely local places to eat. Enjoyed local Wednesday food market and La Bastille celebrations at St Cyr.
