Le Moulin de Giroir : bord de rivière au calme

It started with the prompt response from the owner Philippe who quickly responded to my email. He gave me great comfort in answering all my questions prior to arrival. Greeted us at the mill with a detailed tour and tips for a wonderful stay. All of the comforts of home. Plenty of pots and pan for cooking with large kitchen. Choice of 4 bedrooms, all with very comfortable beds. Coffee bar, pastry store and pharmacy all within walking distance. Grocery shopping and butcher shop within a 5 minute drive. The mill is a joy. Listening to the sounds of the streams is a pleasure to wake up too. Relaxing outdoor area for reading, photo ops and watching the rushing waves. Plenty of things to do within 15 minutes (Futurescope) or our favorite place La Rochelle (1 1/2 hours drive). One week stay was perfect...would highly recommend.

We spent a lovely week at the watermill. The cottage is gorgeous, spacious and well kept. Bed linen are provided, the kitchen very well equipped. The pictures on the website reflect the atmosphere very well. The garden is huge and very well maintained. Lots of space for the children to explore, and lots of space to hide the Easter eggs. Contact with the owner during the reservation process was always very fast, friendly and reliable, completed with a warm welcome by the caretaker. Futuroscope is just a 15-minute drive away and was well worth a visit. We took lovely walks and runs along the river Auxerre.
