Le P'tit Torceen proche de Dieppe

😊: Small but very well planned. Peaceful garden surrounded by a huge hedge that made it feel very private. Calm and peaceful. Bed was very comfortable and the shower was excellent and spacious. The kitchen was superbly equipped and easy to use. Even had a salad spinner! We had a last minute change of plan due to the heatwave further south and wanted somewhere near to Dieppe. There was an excellent supermarket within walking distance and a bar and very nice restaurant. There was also an excellent baker a 15 minute walk away. The surrounding countryside was beautiful but it was too hot to go for long walks.. 😢: It was very hot and although the place was relatively cool being on the ground floor it would have been impossible without our 2 electric fans that we brought ourselves. Also there was no sun umbrella which meant it was too hot to sit outside by the time the sun was full on the house by the afternoon. There were quite a few things that were broken or rather tired. The feeling was that although comfortable it needed a bit of a revamp..

😊: Our second stay here, like it a lot. It’s compact and well equipped, clean and comfortable. Lovely quiet location, easy parking, good wifi, and outside lawned space with table/chairs. The wooded hills of the Varenne valley are lovely with walks through the forest and fields, Dieppe an easy drive, perfect for sitting along the quay with a glass of cidre watching the boats go by. Newhaven-Dieppe ferry works well.. 😢: The loo is very small, you might struggle if you’re on the large side!.

😊: Had a great week here. The apartment is on the ground floor of the owner’s house, not big but perfect for us as a couple, very clean, well equipped, comfy bed, good wifi, great shower. Pauline the host is very friendly, her English about the same standard as my French, but using Google translate for texts seems to work! Set well back from the road so very quiet, patio area with table/chairs and a large lawn in front, easy parking. Excellent location for access to Dieppe and the coast, lovely walks in the forest next to the village, easy to drive to Auffay, park, and get the train to Rouen. And there’s a great new supermarket in the village, puts my local Coop to shame! My husband especially liked ‘Stig’ the robot lawnmower.. 😢: Leaving :-).
