Le PERIGORD NOIR pour les vacances

This villa is in a lovely location, it’s very rural and you would need a car, but it’s beautiful countryside. The villa itself has good and bad points. The main living area and the main bedroom are lovely. The kitchen has been updated and has all modern conveniences. The pool area and garden are amazing. As others have said, the bathroom needs updating and does seem to have some structural issues, with very big cracks. The listing is not accurate. It says there are 2 bedrooms and a mezzanine floor, in fact there is one bedroom downstairs and the mezzanine floor is the second bedroom, above the lounge. My children are older (9 and 13), so this was OK. How it would not be suitable for adults or young children, as there is limited headroom and the stairs are unsafe. I don’t think it would sleep 6 comfortably, there is only 1 real bedroom. We were also not provided linen, although this was offered as an option to hire. The cost was very high which meant we had to purchase sheets and towels. We have stayed in many VRBO properties previously and bedding/ towels are always provided. If not, it should be clearly listed.

Location description unclear-2km outside village on top of hill - not walkable for young/infirm. Billed as sleeping up to 6. Had one bedroom & mezzanine with single beds - it also included pull-out sofa bed in corridor beside the toilet door….. Bathroom needs to be upgraded considerably. Bathroom basin- had brown water from the hot tap on occasion. Toilet has an issue with the flushing system a plumber called but issue still existed! Disappointingly we were offered no monetary redress re toilet issue……. On top of a hill so some great views on nearby walks, pool area lovely but again the pool itself needs some attention.Property basically had some ‘rustic charm’, but the description needs to be rethought & more accurate - along with some investment. This was the 3rd property of our long stay in the Dordogne - it was by far the smallest, worst presented & the most expensive………

Accueil chaleureux de Jean-Marie qui est attentionné et disponible en cas de besoin. Nous avons passé un excellent séjour. La location (conforme au descriptif) est très calme, idéale pour se ressourcer avec sa belle piscine et son cadre naturel, bien située pour profiter des activités de la vallée de la Dordogne.

Jean-Marie nous a chaleureusement accueilli malgré notre arrivée tardive. Ce n'est pas qu'une maison, c'est une histoire, un pays, si bien contés par son propriétaire. Elle est idéalement située en pleine campagne, avec une piscine et des chaises longues si confortables qu'on pourrait le temps d'une baignade oublier que des sites remarquables sont à quelques kilomètres. La commune de Daglan et ses habitants sont accueillants. Arrêtez vous à l'Office du tourisme où vous serez très bien reçus et conseillés. À Bardille la nature est présente, nous marchons les pieds dans l'herbe et la tête dans les étoiles. Merci

Maison périgourdine typique propre et bien aménagée. Très belles vues. Piscine exceptionnelle ! Emplacement parfait pour visiter la région. Départ de randonnée depuis la propriété. Accueil chaleureux de Jean Marie. Nous reviendrons.

Convient parfaitement pour un groupe recherchant le dépaysement et sachant apprécier les vertus du terroir périgourdin. Propriété très bien située pour la découverte des sites classés alentour tout en étant très proche des commodités essentielles. Hôte disponible et convivial. A recommander.

Maison ancienne typique en campagne avec tout le nécessaire. Grand terrain avec balançoires, une très belle piscine, des transats et un abris pour déjeuner. La terrasse derrière la maison est très appréciable. Le hameau est très calme et très reposant. Le propriétaire est très sympathique.

This property is in fantastic location for visiting the beautiful Perigord Noir. It's typically rural French, with thick stone walls, tiled floors and a real country feel. Well equipped, we found that every thing worked! The garden is very large,and the outside seating areas - including great sunbeds round the pool - are very relaxing. We loved the large pool, perfect for cooling off in the heat! You can step out of the front door into wonderful walking country with spectacular views. The owner was very helpful throughout our stay. The property is within easy reach of good restaurants and decent supermarkets as well as the tourist towns in the area. We would recommend as a couple and the upstairs area would be good for kids. Good value for money early/ mid June. Try Le Petit Paris for beautifully presented formal French dining - and Fabrice le chef for beautifully presented informal French dining! (both in Daglan). The lady in the wine shop in Cenac (Roxanne & Cyrano) was particularly helpful. All in all a great base.
