Le refuge - Central - Confortable - Parking Public

😊: Location was ok being fairly central to arras. However the area didn’t feel that safe. I wouldn’t have been comfortable with my wife walking our dog alone for example.. 😢: This was probably the worst place I’ve ever stayed. As soon as we opened the door to the apartment block we were hit with an overpowering disgusting smell in the entrance hall, like rotting garbage. It was very dark inside. The stairs were filthy with mouldy wallpaper peeling off the walls. It felt like a very rundown apartment block & not at all safe. There were 3 doors but no way to tell which was “our” apartment so I ended up trying all 3 until one opened. The front door surround was battered and looked like someone had been trying to get in. The door handle was also loose and felt like it might come off. Initially the apartment itself seemed ok but as we looked closer it was very dirty. The floors were filthy, area around the toilet very dirty, sofa was stained, coffee tables were damaged and felt like the legs were about to fall off, towels were smelly, mattress was old and very saggy with bed sheets that didn’t fit, walls were dirty and needed repainting. The list goes on. We looked for another place to stay but as it was late and we were only there for a very short 1 night stay with an early morning departure we decided to stick it out but it was very very poor..

😊: Good location, clean inside the apartment. 😢: Parking is a problem, very few spaces and expensive.

😊: Great location and lovely big flat, very comfortable beds.. Dead easy to find in Arras. Local sites and shops very close. Well equipped large kitchen and nice bathroom.. 😢: Couldn't find any instructions on getting the TV working, which would have been handy. On street parking was handy but make sure you pay for it at the machine, which is fairly cheap.
