Le Refuge des Grands Rassemblements

😊: The host was very easy to communicate with, the location with on street parking was fab, we had pretty much everything we needed for a two-nights stay, the flat was spacious for everyone and the kitchen was well equipped, the coffee machine and coffee pods were a great addition, the house is pretty old but really well redeveloped to also keep its original character, it was very easy to access and the property and was quiet for a good night sleep. Overall the place was tidy and well presented.. 😢: There were some small but I’d say important touches that could really improve the experience - starting from the very steep stairs - adding an additional handle on the other side would help. The entrance could do with a coat hanger and a mirror, also the washing machine should have a few pods for people to use it if they need to, there was no drying rack for clothes, add a note on the door to the washing machine. Kitchen - as soon as you turn in the kettle the electricity fuse goes off, leave instructions for people to be aware of this. The pots were too small for more people. There should be a few dishwasher tablets available to use ( we bought ourselves and left some for the next visitors). The cleaning needs some attention to detail (found - pair of dirty socks left in the bedroom cupboard so didn’t feel comfortable using any of the drawers), all cupboard and shelves should be cleaned after each visitor. All the cups and glasses were different, one was very cracked and we reported that and threw it away - a closer inspection after visits is definitely needed! The bathroom is just one (toilet is separate) and the under sink cabinet was damaged from water leak, this should be fixed or some sort of lining placed on top. The towels and bedsheets didn’t smell fresh, especially the towels had a damp smell - I would have washed them if I had some washing powder. The mattresses and pillows need protectors and should be washed after visits. The dishwasher door doesn’t open properly and there were spider webs between the dishwasher and the sink cabinet. The glasses and cutlery were all stained so we had to hand wash everything prior to use. The bedrooms need mirrors..

😊: Great little property. We only stayed for one night but it was perfect and the village above the chateau was really nice. We stayed 12 nights in France but our favourite meal was on the first night on the edge of the village square.. 😢: Nothing!.
