Le Vinci /Maison près du château

😊: Great location. Clean and well appointed.. 😢: The stairs up to the top bedroom did not feel at all safe - it was a very narrow wobbly spiral staircase. The bedrooms were also incredibly hot and the fans were insufficient..

😊: The house is centrally located, parking is no problem as there is free public parking nearby. The house has 2 bedrooms.. 😢: On the day of our arrival, we were informed that the „bedroom on the upper floor is accessible only via a spiral staircase, which could be difficult for people with limited mobility, the elderly, or children“. This spiral staircase is not only steep but also very narrow. Carrying suitcases upstairs is impossible. This staircase is dangerous, especially since you have to lean forward and bend down when you come down from above. There are photos on booking.com, but you can't really tell from them how difficult this staircase is (see attached photos). There are two restrooms in the house, which is a plus, but unfortunately there are no sinks in them. To wash your hands, you either have to go through the other bedroom (at night!) or use the kitchen sink. When we arrived at the house, it was quite cold inside, and we noticed that one radiator (in the dining room which had a very high ceiling) wasn’t working. (France Météo has forecast temperatures ranging from 3 to 16 degrees Celsius for the days of our stay.) The two other radiators weren’t able to heat the room sufficiently, so we contacted the homeowner. The next morning, a young man (very friendly and helpful) came by with a portable heater, which we were then able to use. The conversation with the landlady, while the young man was present, was unpleasant. We were told that the house had 15 radiators, but we could only find 7 of them, spread across 3 floors. Two days earlier, we had also stayed in Amboise, in a newly renovated house that was comparable to this one in terms of location and amenities. Nevertheless, the ‚Le Vinci Maison près du chateau‘ was significantly more expensive (526,-€ versus 297.-€), which is completely unjustified..

😊: Location few minutes by feet from the Amboise castle, cleanes, has everything you may need during a few days stay and extremely responsive and kind host. 😢: Nothing.

😊: Location was very good easy walk into the town , chateau and restaurants. 😢: The spiral staircase was a little tricky and noisy especially at night.

😊: We stayed only 2nights at Ana’s house.It is well equiped,clean and with all it could be very convenient for longer stay as well, with family or with friends.. 😢: We loved how the livingroom area stays nice fresh and cool even during a hot day, its very refreshing .Compare to it’s size the house offers a lot , it is well equiped.Wifi is great and the cooling unit is a life saver during a hot night..
