Les Hirondelles, chalet au bord du lac avec piscine

Isolé au coeur d'une petite vallée champêtre, au bord d'un ruisseau et d'un bel étang, le gîte fait partie d'un ensemble de cinq hébergements touristiques aménagés dans une ancienne ferme en pierre qui a été rénovée par les propriétaires depuis une vingtaine d'années. Les abords du gîte sont exceptionnels : paysage de bocage, étang avec canoës à disposition, salle de jeux avec table de ping-pong, billard, kicker ; et enfin une piscine de belle dimension protégée à l'intérieur d'un clos. Tous ces équipements sont partagés mais accessibles librement. Notre gîte comptait deux chambres (un lit double et deux lits simples). Très spacieux et très propre à l'arrivée. Equipé simplement mais avec tout le confort minimal nécessaire et un petit jardin privatif avec terrasse. Sid, l'hôte des lieux, est super accueillant et très disponible. Les règles sont claires et précises et c'est rassurant pour tout le monde. Il y a une boulangerie à cinq minutes, dans le village d'à côté et la ville la plus proche est à dix minutes (Bricquebec). La côté ouest est à vingt minutes et propose des sites fabuleux : Port-Bail, Carteret, Baubigny et un peu plus loin, Vauville, puis le Cap (avec le Nez de Jobourg). Cherbourg et sa célèbre Cité de la mer est à 45 minutes. Bref, tout est facilement accessible pour passer un séjour au coeur du "Cotentin par nature".

We (my husband, me and our 8 month old son) have just returned from a week in Les Hirondelles and we will definitely be returning. Location - the peace and quiet was only shattered by the sound of a baby shouting. As the baby belonged to us we can't really complain. Saying that the other guests swore blind they didn't hear him so the glazing must be good. It is a drive to anywhere but it was perfect for exploring the D-Day beaches and having somewhere quiet to come back to. Accommodation - clean, everything we needed, excellent WiFi and nice to have freesat. Facilities - the pool was fantastic (we were in it every day) and the grounds were lovely for a walk or just a sit and relax.

We have just returned from a family holiday which included 7of our grandchildren aged 6 to 16. We occupied 4of the gites. They were all spotlessly clean, spacious and well equipped. The owners Sid and Zeena were very helpful. The facilities especially for the children , were second to none. It surpassed all expectations. We usually go away once a year in this large family group, and in the words of my 8 year old granddaughter 'This holiday is the best ever, even better than the last two I remember.I cannot recommend this holiday location highly enough. This was a really lovely cottage with great views over the lake and set in picturesque countryside. Ideally placed to discover Normandy. The owners, Sid and Zeena, live on site and give you total privacy but are really helpful if you need it. We loved our week there and will definitely return. We can't recommend it enough.

The gite was well furnished and equipped. We visited a different beach every day - all glorious and within a 20 - 30 minute drive. A very relaxing, refreshing holiday and I'm sure we will be back.
