We had booked a different apartment nearby through Booking.com. We were driving for 7 hours before arriving at Hyères. We were road-weary and ready to collapse — and the host of that property? Simply vanished. No calls answered. No check-in instructions. Nothing. We called Booking.com and after an hour of tallking to them, Booking.com canceled the reservation, and sent us scrambling for a replacement with the clock ticking. For a moment, the very real prospect of sleeping in the car floated through the air like an uncomfortable joke neither of us was laughing at. That's when we found this little studio — booked literally last minute. We were sincerely grateful when the owner picked up the call. ✨ The Saving Grace: The Owner I want to lead with this because it genuinely coloured everything. After what we'd just been through, the owner of this apartment was an absolute godsend. Warm, welcoming, and genuinely kind — she took us upstairs and walked us around the area despite it being late and despite us visibly running on fumes. That kind of human decency after a near-disaster? It matters enormously, and I won't forget it. If this review were solely about her, it would be a ten out of ten. We want to say THANK YOU to the owner. She's really nice. She's nice to our dog too.. 😢: I don't enjoy writing this part, especially about someone who was so kind to us. But I'd be doing you a disservice if I glossed over it. The apartment was dirty. Not just holiday-home tired, not just could-use-a-refresh — actually dirty. Dusty floors. Grimy corners. The kind of dust that tells you the mop hasn't visited in a while. The bed and the couch were fine, but the floor hadn't been cleaned to any acceptable standard. The toilet was fine too. As for Booking.com — I do hope the platform finds a way to hold hosts accountable even when a stay doesn't technically happen. Being abandoned without check-in instructions isn't a gap in the system; it's a failure of it. Nobody should be left stranded at nightfall with nowhere to go..

L host Catherine gentilissima sia con noi che con la nostra cagnolina a cui ha procurato anche una cuccia per dormire . Ci ha dato molti suggerimenti e si è sincerata più volte che il nostro soggiorno andasse bene ! Torneremo sicuramente
