Les Mansardes du Roi - À deux min du château - Centre historique

😊: The location was very central to wine bars and restaurants. A fairly quiet location. Within walking distance to transport locations and Versailles Palace.. 😢: The entrance was dark and then having to climb 72 steps with luggage up a narrow winding staircase to the property was very challenging. Of which there was no mention of this in the description. Found one bed made but however the sofa bed required sheets and we had to hunt around for them. The washer had previous clients bedding washed and left in so would have had to take out and dry had we wanted to use the machine. Only 2 bath towels of grey thready state no hand towel . A charge would be levelled for another towels during 3 night stay. We felt very unsafe as could not locate smoke detector or carbon monoxide detector or a fire escape. Could not get tv to work.No hand soap in toilet. Beware of the low beams knocked head a few times. Interestingly the guest comment book appeared to have had pages torn out. Due to all of this we are extremely surprised at some of the good reviews. We would not stay again..

😊: The communication with the host was very good! She was available and always nice to provide us with all the information!. 😢: I would suggest to instal air conditioning....it was a bit hot during the day. But we could sleep well at night....so not big deal!.

A plunge into history!<br>#128578; This was an incredible stay in the lap of history! My cousin and I, both architecture majors and lovers of old buildings, estimated this old house to be late 18th or early 19th century. Our top floor room was crisscrossed by hefty, hand hewn oak beams and joists (mind your noggin!) and well-appointed with modern furniture, under-counter fridge, dishwasher and washing machine. The outdoor ...<br>#128577; I didn’t realize our room was on the top floor and I wasn’t expecting to lug my overpacked bag (that was my fault) up 74 steps. Also the entry method took some experimentation until we got it, and outside our efficiency apartment, we found TWO lockboxes instead of one, and spent several minutes fiddling with the real obvious but wrong one until we noticed the correct one laying on the windowsill nearby.
