Les Maufrais

😊: This is an older property in a rural part of France off the tourist trail. It has lovely empty countryside to the north and south. It is an ideal location for bird watchers. The house had a lovely garden. It had all the necessary equipment for a short stay. St Savin is worth a visit.. 😢: The house smelt musty on arrival as old houses do when shut up for a while. It was superficially clean but cobwebs and spiders lurked in the corners. We were requested to do the cleaning before we left and we left it as we found it - with the cobwebs. It needs more thorough and rigorous cleaning. The dishwasher and washing machine were in an outside utility room.

😊: Lovely 2 bed gite with a huge garden ( 150m long) in a quiet village a few miles from a town with restaurants and supermarkets. Well equipped including a washing machine which was useful. Close to the River Creuse and canoeing is available in Le Blanc. Old railway line running through the village has been repurposed for cycling along the valley. We had a lovely week.. 😢: Nothing, all was great.

😊: We were self catering for breakfast. The garden was amazing, large and peaceful. There was good garden furniture available. Thierry showed us around and we had everything that we could possibly need.. 😢: Nothing.
