Les Petites Cigognes: Le Pluvier

Ian and Sandra are perfect hosts and they warmly welcome you to this gorgeous gite between Descartes and the lovely town of Loches. Each gite is extremely well equipped, both inside and out with everything very well thought out from comfy beds, amazing showers, spacious and airy rooms and its large patio area. Each gite has its own garden with sun beds and gazebo and the wonderful large heated swimming pool lies just across the field . It’s the perfect place to explore the Chateau of the Loire and to unwind. This was our third stay and we can’t wait to go back!

A really relaxing location with excellent facilities. Large grounds well maintained and each gite has its own garden. Sandra and Ian, the owners, go out of their way to make stay memorable.

Everything about the gite is perfect. I first visited with young children and their elderly grandmother in 2010. This year I returned as an adults only break and it did not disappoint. The location is idyllic: so peaceful and a real retreat from real life. Ian and Sandra are perfect hosts and the gites are spotlessly clean, with every home comfort. The pool is truly wonderful and even though our weather wasn't the best, we enjoyed a morning swim every day.

A perfect find for a family group holiday. We occupied all three gites which provided plenty of space and facilities to be together, or for each family group to have its own space too. Each gite was extremely well equipped (especially the kitchens) with very comfortable beds and good showers. Children are well catered for with outdoor games and plenty of space to explore and run around. Good size outdoor pool. Excellent and hospitable hosts.

We have just returned from a week at Les Petites Cigognes. At this point I'd love to write a scathing review (just to stop other people booking and thus keep it free for us), but, as we have already secured our space for next year....... What a great place - peaceful, yet close to everything you need, very clean, well equiped, fabulous hosts, the pool is a great place to relax. I can't recommend a stay here enough.

We stayed in Pluvier. It was impressively clean and kitted out. Enough crockery, glasses, cooking equipment etc and the added bonus of a teapot! The beds were very comfortable, and the downstairs bedroom lovely and cool. Lovely modern bathrooms with superb showers. To have a bathroom per bedroom was great. The patio area ( with an amazing awning and blinds to keep it shaded as it gets sun most of the day!) looks out over the extensive garden which has a host of play things for young and old alike( adults swing ball was a sight to behold!) The pool area is stunning. Beautifully laid out and very clean. The added bonus of a heated pool was luxury. The complex of 3 gites is very peaceful, away from hustle and bustle, but this does mean you do need to drive to restaurant/ shopping. A small price to pay for the sound of bird song! Wifi was good but the system they use doesn’t really support streaming or downloading, this didn’t bother us but may be an issue for those that need this. There is satellite UK tv for those that need their TV fix. The booking process and payment was very easy. Communication from Ian and Sandra before arrival was excellent, and knowing they were on hand during our stay was reassuring. The return of our damage deposit was very quick. We are delighted we discovered these gites and would wholeheartedly recommend them for a great stay.

We have just returned home from a wonderful stay at Les Petites Cigognes La Pulvier Gite. Ian and Sandra couldn't have been more helpful and friendly. The gite was very well furnished and equipped with a lovely swimming pool. The surrounding countryside was very peaceful and picturesque.

The 3 gites at Les Petites Cignones are set in a beautiful courtyard which also includes the owner's property. We stayed in the 3 bedroomed gite, Le Pluvier and were very impressed by it's overall cleanliness and facilities. The gite was equipped with just about everything you would need for a week's sightseeing in the Loire Valley and felt really like a home from home. The swimming pool area and grounds are lovely (shame the weather wasn't better so that we could make more use of them!), and the private garden was lovely, with a large patio perfect for sitting out on in the evenings. Sandra & Ian were excellent hosts and obviously work hard to keep the property spick and span. We would definitely recommend Les Petites Cignones and would certainly consider going there again.
