😊: The property is located in the quiet hamlet of Le Carlat, a few minutes' drive from St Cybranet. The owners, Jean-Philippe and Nathalie, are very friendly and welcoming and provided us with helpful informations about festivals and attractions in the local area. The house dating from the 18th century has been recently renovated, is finely furnished and well equipped, with each of the five bedrooms having its own shower or bath. It also benefits from outstanding views over the surrounding countryside and is situated in a very peaceful location. We very much enjoyed using our private swimming pool and made good use of the charcoal BBQ and electric plancha. There are a lot of attractions that are less than an hour's drive from the gite: we visited the fortress of Domme, the troglodyte site of La Roque Saint Christophe, shopped for local produce in Sarlat-la-Caneda and had a 25km canoe trip down the river Dordogne, which gave us a unique perspective on the castles of Montfort, Castelnaud and Beynac as well as the very picturesque Roque Gageac.. 😢: The bedrooms may benefit from more storage options and the kitchen area was feeling a bit crammed at times if there were more than 2/3 people trying to prepare dinner for our group of 9..
